I defy traditional labels. Socially liberal, morally conservative, can't figure out how people can be cruel to one another. I love to get to know people who are not just like me. I'm a natural optimist, but sometimes get dragged down by a gene pool that tends toward depression. I wish the sun would shine all the time. I love OTHER PEOPLE'S dogs, but would say I'm a cat person. Big into sports, particularly soccer, track/cross country, football, college basketball and any Olympic event except boxing and such. It is difficult for me to go a day without some Junior Mints. I wish I were a better evangelist.

My Goals:
I will be strong and fit enough to say YES to any physical activity I'm asked to participate in. Biking to MIL's house 50 miles away - YES! Running sprints with my soccer daughter- YES! Kayaking up the river to the next town - YES! Carrying 35 lbs of cat litter into the house - YES!

I will say NO only if I want to, not because I'm unable.

My Program:
Eat food for fuel. Expand my repertoire of healthy foods.

Exercise daily and vary activities - HIIT, running, walking, weights, kayaking, elliptical, yoga, pilates, WATP. I'm taking suggestions!

Make time for relaxation. Get 7-8 hours of sleep. Read something for fun every day.

Personal Information:
Live in NE Wisconsin which means cold winters and hot summers.

Married 28 years in 2016, and have two grown children.

Love to be active. Becoming more diligent about food choices so the 50s flabbies don't set in.

Having a heckuva time keeping those Junior Mints out of my mouth. They are my worst temptation.

    Kathleen, thank you for the telephone and most of all for your prayers. I've gotten texts from DD that they've (finally) landed are were on their way out of the airport via the hotel van. That made me feel better about their long flights.

    If I didn't believe that God holds them in His hands, I'd already be on the psych ward of the local hospital. emoticon As it is, I'm trying to REST in His love for them and me.

    Once upon a time (I was a teenager) we lived in Chicago, and I understand it's gotten even worse since then. BTW, My kids are in SE Asia, and will be there over 9/11 - not a good time in my opinion.

    DD plans to text some, as will I, so we'll be in touch.

    Your family should consider coming to MD for the 100 mile bike ride that we have in the Fall--it is a big event with lots of people participating in it. Next time I see info on it, I will send it to you for future reference. It is hosted at our local college---Salisbury University. That sure was quite a bike ride that your family does.

    Thanks for your note on my vacation blog!
    Yes, we were around the Inn, 2 days near Lienz and Innsbruck, then 2 days in a small village called Pfunds, where the garden's border was the river itself! I have never seen such a beautiful blue river... and bike paths all along!
    Before that we spent 2 days in Villach and cycled on Drau cycle path, that was beautiful too.

    And thanks for the compliment about the 3 meals!
    I have been doing this for 8 months now and it really makes life easier.
    Before that I had 3 meals and 2 planned snacks and I would have never thought I could go without my snacks... then I read about Bright Line Eating, tried it and liked it.
    I love to learn and try new things, and many of them stick : )
