Nurturing My Health First

I'm Kate, and my Sparkname is a friendly reminder to myself:
It is always okay to nurture myself first. On Fridays or Saturdays, I make a weekly plan for how I'm going to be healthy that week, and I try to set reasonable goals so that I am motivated to follow through.

I have a long history of health and weight challenges, but I'm working every day to live life now better than ever! Challenges have included a major surgery in my late teens, chronic pain from scar tissue, ...

I have a long history of health and weight challenges, but I'm working every day to live life now better than ever! Challenges have included a major surgery in my late teens, chronic pain from scar tissue, sciatica 3x in my life so far, and a mysterious slow-healing injury that lasted from May 2010-Nov 2011.

I was once almost 190 lbs (in 2003), and once made it down to 145 (in 2005 and 2009), but that lower weight was too strident and I wasn't very strong. I'm building up my strength these days and trying to remember that every day is a day for mindful self-care!

Hi Kate, TY for your blog comment. The program I'm on now stems from the site Stronglifts.com
The site predominantly utilizes 5-compound exercises. Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, Bent-over Rows, and Overhead Press. emoticon Earl
