March 2010
Wow, I can't believe we're in March - 2 months of the year have already gone by so quickly! I must admit that my diet and fitness efforts have not been the greatest and I was really slacking off in February but I will pick up again this month. I need some goals to work towards so here they are:
Long Term:
- Be able to run a half marathon - Oct 2010

March 2010
Wow, I can't believe we're in March - 2 months of the year have already gone by so quickly! I must admit that my diet and fitness efforts have not been the greatest and I was really slacking off in February but I will pick up again this month. I need some goals to work towards so here they are:
Long Term:
- Be able to run a half marathon - Oct 2010
- Get down to 115lbs - 30 June 2010

Medium Term:
- Run a 10K in sub 50 mins
- Have more definition due to strength training sessions

Short Term:
- Track food intake and exercise
- Do 300 mins cardio per week
- Do 2 strength training sessions per week building up to 3 sessions


February 2010
My goal for this month is to lose 5-6 lbs and to finally get down to 130lbs. I know that in order to do this I need to be diligent in tracking my nutrition on SparkPeople and being disciplined with my exercise. I have the habit of making too many goals and not accomplishing anything so this month I just decided to stick to 2 and see how that goes. Here they are:
1. Track my food intake on SP
2. Stick to my exercise programme
- strength training 3x week
- cardio 4x week


January 2010
This year is going to be a good year. A very good year. Quite possibly my best year ever. Why? Because I'm going to make it that way. I know that I can't control everything that happens to me in this life but I should at least try to take charge of the areas of my life that I can change and do something about it. Life is too short to go about just existing; I need to live life to the full chase after my dreams because if I don't then no one else will.
So once again I am stating that this year WILL be a good year because I'm going to make it a good year.



2009
I'm 24 years old and I've been chubby for most of my life and my weight has been bothering me for as long as I can remember. Every year I try to lose weight but nothing ever happens as I always tend to give up after a while. The thing is that I love everything related to fitness and always loved reading fitness articles and reading fitness magazines but never got to talk about it with others as I thought that they wouldn't believe anything I said as I was still overweight although I knew all the fitness stuff.

This year has been going pretty okay for me though. I haven't lost as much weight as I would have liked but I have made some progress from this time in 2008 as I was actually 10lbs heavier then and couldn't run half the distance that I can run now. One of the greatest things for me is that I can actually now run for 60mins straight; only 3 years ago I hated running and couldn't run for more than 5 mins at a time!

Sometimes I do get discouraged and want to give up but I look back at how far I've come (my highest weight was 160lbs after my 1st yr at uni) and I remember how long I've been wanting to lose weight and get fit and then I find the energy to keep working towards my goals.

LONG TERM GOALS
- Get down to 115lbs by June 2010
-Take part in at least two 5K/10K races when I'm back home from August 2009 - completed Jan 2010
-Finish a 10K race - 26th April 2009 - accomplished! 54 mins! woo hoo!
-Develop a healthy relationship with food



My Program:
- at least 250 mins cardio a week
-strength training 3x wk
-30mins pilates 3x wk
- runner's world core strengthening exercises 3x week

I was looking at your page after you left a comment on my blog (thanks by the way that put a smile on my face!) I love the way you have short term, middle term, and long term goals. Good for you for knowing the right way to do it, I'm always focused on long term, with some medium term, I just cant get into the short terms though. Good luck with everything and drop by every now and then
