The struggle of a hungry hypoglycemic
I've spent a lifetime struggling with my weight, caught between low metabolism and the hunger caused by reactive hypoglycemia. I was a slightly chubby child, but finally reached a good weight in my early 20s and maintained it for 10 years before having kids. I lost the baby weight the first time, but the second time it didn't come off entirely. In the 9 (!) years since, I've been caught in a hopeless cycle of increasing exercise and increasing weight gain. With 34 pounds to lose, I came here for the food diary and for help with the aggravation of hypoglycemia. I lost 25 lbs, and gradually regained most of it back again thanks to a stressful 2009/2010. Now need to start that journey all over again.

My Goals:
Well, I made no real weight-loss progress in 2010. My fitness was in top gear, as always. Goals for 2012: 145 or less by 2/1 140 or less by 3/1 Gather encouragement from meeting above!
My Program:
I'm already exercising strenuously 6 days a week, strength-training 1.5 days (I'd like to aim for 2-3). I'm keeping a food diary again, and trying to eliminate sugar. Also working on that late-night eating problem!
Personal Information:
I love cycling and running, and added elliptical trainer work about 4 years ago when plantar fasciitus halted my running. I'm running again, 4 miles once a week (I'd do more, but my feet still feel it a bit). My husband and I love movies and TV, often dramas and witty writing.
Other Information:
I miss hiking in the spring/summer on weekends, which got sidelined due to my husband's arthritis and our having kids. I'm waiting for my son (now 10) to get a little older so he can go with me! He'll have the stamina and the interest.
