I'm turning 47 in just 5 days. I am still learning to live with Hypothyroidism, the battle of the weight, the brain fog, the same foods over and over because I'm to scared to eat anything else. I am currently 173 and I am miserable. All my babies are in school or own their own. Expecting another grandbaby in Feb. 2015 and I want to enjoy playing with all of them.

Wow, time has flown by. A little update we are now parents to an amazing 4 year old. Our DD has a beautiful little girl and is expecting her 2 little girl in Feb. 14 things have been really good except for the weight I have gained I weighed this morning and was 172.6 I am not quite sure how it got there other than my thyroid. Doc says numbers are good, so I am going to start tracking again.

Why do we get so comfortable with life? I have now gone back up in weight obviously my fault and I will take the blame not eating as healthy as I have. I am determined to get this extra 10 pounds that has jumped on me since our cruise I have gone to the cabin with my girls for the weekend, flown to Mississippi with my hubby for the weekend and boom I am at 152lbs I know where it came from no denying it. Now to get it gone for good. Ah, the holidays are coming am I strong enough no doubt, can I do this? Well of course you can. I have already started when I told my girlfriend
me:"I'm at 154"
her:well that's not bad
me: No it's only 10 pounds from 164 that got my attention.
her: I would have never thought of it that way.
So the time has come for a commitment from me DONE with the 150's and battling the 140's it will be.

It's been some time since I've been on SP. I am proud to say that I have stuck with my healthy eating, I have slacked on my exercise though. I still have a few pounds to go to be in the normal range for BMI. And only 7 pounds until I'm at goal. I really need to get back into my exercise routine, my body is really telling me that. I'm still working with my DR. on my thyroid issue, we stay on top of that, he finally told me that he thinks I went from one direction to the other. I got my Ipod and nike+ for Christmas so now I have really no excuse for not at least walking. I have made a challenge to myself not to charge anything for the new year. Yes, I said challenge not a resolution.

This morning I weighed and have lost a total of 21lbs.
Sept. 27th~ I ran my 2nd 5K with my husband and Dad. What a wonderful experience just seeing the excitement in my Dad's face it was his first 5K he is 60 years old. I have a new PB of 38:37 which I'm proud of.
I will be 41 on Oct. 19th and I must say I am so much more healthier than I was last year. Thank you Sparkpeople.
I'm so thankful that I found Sparkpeople. What a place to be, the encouragement is outstanding. To date I have lost 18 pounds I have gained the ability to tie my shoes that may not seem like a lot to some but it is to me. I have met so many kind and wonderful people online and some in person. I have learned so much about how to eat and what not to eat. I've learned about portion control. I really needed that. I've told so many people about this site it is my way of paying it forward.

I'm a happily married mother of 5, 3 boys 31,23,16, 2 girls 22,9. The 31 year old is my stepson. I've been married to my bestfriend for 24 years. I quit smoking 2/23/07. I had a hysterectomy in May 07 due to cancer concerns. Both my parents had Open Heart Surgery in 07. My Dad in February and Mom in June and my Mother has Lung Cancer. Before all this, I could eat any grown man or woman under the table and wouldn't gain an ounce I weighed 123 lbs. I was a big diet coke drinker 7 or 8 two liters a day by my self. I only drink water now and occasionally I will have lemonade or grape juice. I weighed 123 in Nov. of 06 when I began my journey to a healthier me. I now have a thyroid issue that I have to deal with. I am so inspired by other people on this website. I'm thankful to be a part of it. I just really want to feel better about myself. I want to be me.

~Jog/Walk my 1st 5k. Completed 5K on 4/19/08
~5K in September beat my current time of 43:16~Done with a 38 :37
~I want to be a runner. I love it so much.
Track food and exercise.
4/15/09~ Make healthy choices in the food I eat. Try to exercise at least 3 times a week.
I live in Florida but love the mountains and will live there after my husband retires "God willing" We have a cabin in TN. I have been so inspired by the biggest looser (Julie you rock)
I need to be reminded that it's okay not to finish my plate.
I love to bake for family and my friends. I love to encourage people.
