I am a retired RN with one husband and 2 married children. We have 2 step-grandsons, ages 24 and 14, and a 2 year-old grandson. Several years of high stress, insomnia and depression have resulted in low energy, increased weight and a generally out-of-balance life. I joined SparkPeople to help me re-establish healthier habits and gain balance in my life. After a little over a year of false starts and additional weight gain, I'm making SparkPeople a higher priority.

Just stopping by to say hello, I saw your post on the drinking water thread. I originally posted that thread. It seems to be a problem, getting all the water in. I am also a retired RN, and so glad to be retired. I always look to see if a sparker is an RN, I can tell by their comments. Once again it does take one to know one, but meant in a good way. How about you, days or nights? I worked the night shift for so many years the next sentence probably would make sense.
I am also in the better sleep challenge, am on day 13, and it's working!!! So glad I took a chance on doing this challenge. You can do a private blog, I used to do it, on another challenge I did and it really helped me. I like the private blog, you might try it for the sleep challenge, It has been hard to find the time some days , I've a problem with too much multi tasking, gee, wonder how I learned that habit?

Your comment on the New Years Resolution Poll page really helped me and I just want to say thanks. I've been unemployed, isolated and increasingly depressed for some time. Thanks for reminding me that I can put my attention on others and what I can do for them when my own situation seems dark and hopeless.

Hi JulNelson: I hope you are having a good day. I made it be bed on time last night. That's one out of three that I need to move on this week. I think that it will be helpful to have someone real to report to. Please feel free to do the same on my page!

P.S. I actually only got 10 minutes more sleep than usual because I woke up earlier, but I had a nice quiet time reading my scriptures before I got out of bed, which has been a bit harder for me lately, and I got my morning off to a good start. I think I probably will need a nap this afternoon!
