Faith, Willingness, Action; this is what I think I need to achieve my goals. Gratitude, Vision, Open to receive... Gratitude for the many blessings in my life; vision of myself being healthy, strong, lean, and limber - and believing that I can succeed. Willing to do what is necessary to create the changes I need to make. Open to succeed. That, at least for now, is what I think...
Update - It has been over a year since I joined Spark People and I can honestly say that it has changed my life. I am calmer about this whole weight loss journey, and rather than going on the roller coaster of intense dieting followed by desperation and bingeing, I am building healthy habits. I hurt my knee and am going to have surgery later this summer. It has taken me a while to figure out how to exercise around it, and my calorie burning part of the fat loss equation has tapered off, as has my fat loss. But I know it is a temporary pause as I get my health back. I started a new career as a personal trainer and love it. My injury reminds me that it is important to learn how to work around injuries and not let it stop me from being active. Also, I need to take it a bit easier so as not to injure myself.
I have an affirmation that makes me smile when I think about it. Here it is:
I LIVE a vibrant, healthy, active, loving, creative, abundant, joyful life, surrounded by beauty, and people who love me, and support me, in being my best, and giving my gifts.
Since I have been more or less chanting that affirmation as I walk the beach, or hike, it seems like it is a reality.
Here it is August 2015. I joined spark people in March 2007. Loved it then and love it now. This time I am feeling different about the journey. This time I am focusing on creating a lifestyle and habits that will support me for the long haul. I am ok being where I am right now, and I am getting better everyday.
June 4, 2015 Goals
124 lbs and 20% Body Fat by December 3, 2015
Intermediate Weight and Body fat goals -
July 2 - 147 lbs, 29% body fat
August 6 - 142 lbs, 26.5% BF
September 3 - 138.5 lbs, 24.5% BF
October 1 - 134 lbs, 22.5% BF
November 5 - 129 lbs, 20% BF (WOO HOO if this can be real!)
December 3 - 125 lbs, 18% BF (I suspect that I will lose some lean mass as well as fat, which is why these don't exactly match up...

Cardio - 250 minutes per week in the target heart rate range.
I plan to walk or hike everyday whenever the spirit, or my dog, moves me, using bursts from time to time to increase heart rate.
In addition, I plan to do strength training 3 times a week, split routine.
Yoga for a break from routine when my body needs it.
I am following the steps on Spark People to build healthy habits, and aiming for 30% protein, 40% carb, 30% fat, eating like a hunter gatherer and avoiding processed foods. I am focusing on eating the most nourishing foods I can... "eating clean." I aim for a minimum of 8 servings of produce a day.
6 vegis and 3 fruits/day;
Cardio - 6 days/week;
Max-OT weight training 3 days/week.

No worries, I miss all kinds of stuff on spark lately, but I try.

My morning routine:
wake up (seems simple, right? I've not set an alarm for well over 10 years...still seem to wake between 5 and 6 most mornings...it works for me!)
make my coffee and enjoy while washing dishes from the night before. I love having a clean kitchen once a day!
head downstairs with the rest of my coffee and get on the computer. check e-mail, listen to a meditation, Spark.
get ready for work and head in. MWF I have CrossFit so I have my gym bag packed and drive in. TT I run to work (having brought my clothes in the day before) so I shower at the gym that just happens to be next door to work. It's pretty nice.

Glad you stopped by to see my pictures. Riley was so pretty along with those flowers, he's was looking at the grasshoppers and bees, yes he was happy. We managed to keep him on the path and not in the flowers. I am so glad we sow those flowers when we did, so hot now I am sure it no longer looks like that. I will go back though saw so many different flowers that did not even open yet. Hope you have a good weekend almost here.

Hi Jill, glad to see you back again, was this the trip where you would help make those chocolate sculptures? How did you do with that?
I am glad to hear that you had a good time, right back in June to start fresh.
I have been doing great, now that we are finally having some sunshine, was pretty gloomy for awhile there. Saw some beautiful wildflowers and even got Riley to pose for me, beautiful colorful picture of him, and the flowers, of course, lo.
