Making Progress!

I'm a busy wife, mom and busy grandma. I'm even busier with the birth of twins on March 30, 2014! I want to keep up with my sweet husband, children, and all the grandchildren as they grow up. I was widowed on July 10, 2006 to Alan, the most wonderful man. Then I met another most wonderful man, Reese, who was also widowed, and we were married June 23, 2012. Life is sweet! Life is an adventure!

My Goals:
I will reach a healthy weight by Fall of 2014 and then I will maintain. I will be consistent in my healthy eating and exercise habits.

My Program:
I am a vegetarian, and I include dairy and eggs in my diet. I try to eat whole grains and foods that are not very processed. My husband and I go to the gym 4 days per week and follow a plan for strength training that our personal training set up for us. We also walk/run on the treadmill or the track. On my own I ride my bike and swim. My husband and I enjoy riding our bikes together, and with the family, and exploring trails in the mountains together.

Personal Information:
I moved from Northern Nevada to Utah when I married Reese, my current husband. Family and my religious faith are important to me.

Other Information:
I have struggled with my weight my entire life. When my late husband died I lost 70 pounds that year, but I'm up from that lowest weight. I felt good at that previous weight, but time will tell where my best and healthiest weight is.

I LOVE that housecleaning goodie! If there were only ONE SparkGoodie that I would like to wave a magic and over and turn it into the real thing, this would be the one! What a great friend you are--to know EXACTLY what I want (and need!)!! Thank you!!

Are you on the same streak with Gabby1948? Or is it coincidence that we are both on day 44? Happenstance is okay, just curious since Gaye said there were others and she thanks Judy and Ginie.
Whatever, go girl go. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Judy, thank you so much for your sweet response to my first video blog! That was such a nice comment. I just absolutely know that you are the kind of person I would love to meet in "real" life! I can only hope that might happen someday, but in the meantime, I sure love being friends with you here!

Judy, thank you for reading my blog and leaving such a supportive comment! You are a very good example to me--someone close to me in age who has succeeded in losing weight and has maintained the loss, even when your routine is interrupted. I really look up to you!

Yes, your son is right about being given leeway for being a foreigner. I have become rather assimilated here in Japan, so I'm different from the way I would have been if I had stayed in the US my entire life, but I still have a very strong American core, which I cherish and which makes me a lot louder than the typical Japanese person. But Japan is changing, and even among ordinary Japanese, a lot of people have started to act more like Americans--louder, more flexible, and more laid back.

Have a great week!
