My focus today is on health and wellness, family, friends and spiritual growth. I've chosen to have my page reflect my life today; pictures from 10-16 years ago are quite different and are scattered through my gallery. Life is good!
Interests: I enjoy home yoga practice, but my main activity is still with my walking with my dog "Sugar"! She's from a rescue and has flourished since I adopted her. She's worth her weight in gold because she makes me laugh! She's also a great motivator to get out for a one to three mile walk every day. She has been a real gift to me and my health.
October 2010, we adopted Xena as a kitten; she's livened up our household considerably and keeps tabs on my indoor "spark" walks! By 2011 walking has become a primary fitness activity for me; as I entered 2012 hooping had become a close second. 2013 has been a year of major yard changes and gardening activity! 2014 a lot of energy was put into fixing up my house and adding more gardens. Alas, 2015 did bring some health issues that slowed me down a bit; but have not stopped me! I have given up yoga classes but continue to practice at home where I can pace myself. 2016 I've regained a lot of strength and continue to improve. Whatever challenges are put in your way; never give up on a healthy lifestyle! I'm back working in the yard and gardens again and loving it!
Time with my family and friends and indoor "walk -n- talks" on the phone are my other primary activities. Maintaining my home and yard and gardening keep me busy. Yard and gardening spring through the fall sometimes takes the place of other fitness activities. Reading, sewing and crafts when I have time; keeping busy never a problem! Finding more time sometimes is.
October of 2015 I was diagnosed with Temporal Arterial Arteritis (Giant Cell Arteritis); a real game changer and the treatment is steroids. Really challenged my fitness efforts and maintenance. This year has been one of healing and reducing medication and things are looking good. I've pushed through and my Spark friends have been right here with me pushing and pulling too. Thank You! It may take another year, I'm still on a low dose of medication, but I do hope to get off it completely.
I just keep growing and changing in healthy ways; life is good!

Thanks for the encouragement. I meant that blog to be more humorous than it turned out. But I'll take the props for getting out there, anyway. emoticon I'm enjoying spring through your pictures, at least! emoticon

Yes I am on a river, look at the windmill picture close, you can see the river to the back.
Also check out my blog Nine mile river, it shows the river running out in my backyard.

Thanks for the well wishes with our new indoor tree! (Not nearly the size of a tree yet). Really hoping it survives. The big fiddle shaped leaves are so lovely. I am also considering getting a ZZ plant/bush/tree. We had one up until our kids were toddlers and then gave it away for fear they'd sample the leaves and get sick. That plant was so low maintenance. Also considering a snake plant. We don't get tons of light so not a lot of options other than I guess ferns too. Sorry to ramble!
