40 is the new 30!

I am one of those people who can't stick to anything. I get super excited to start a new diet, new plan, new routine, new DVD, new gimmick and I make it through for about a week and I quit. Not because I don't get results that quick - just because I must have fitness ADD - can't keep focused on anything. I just can't seem to perfect the motivation though getting dressed everyday in clothes I don't like should be enough motivation! I am 40 now and I have heard more and more that the 40's can ...

I am 40 now and I have heard more and more that the 40's can be the best years of a woman's life. That's my plan. That's my goal.

My Goals:
To make my 40's the best years as far as fitness and self confidence levels.

My Program:
I have finally found what works for me. Eating as close to nature as possible - with occasional treats/cheats - I call it calorie confusion! I find that the calories take care of themselves when I eat fruits, veggies, whole grains, oatmeal and stay away from cereals, processed foods, fiber bars, mayo, butter, etc. I have also found Zumba to be a great cardio workout that doesn't feel like a workout. With that I also jog and try to do a DVD at home now and then just to change things up. I call that muscle confusion!

wow..thank you for asking about my diet coke. I have tried this before....not sure when you heard of it, but this time around i am doing great. I gave it up for lent and requested prayer for that and sweets. Before this time around, I didn't realize that my relationship with food was actually a spiritual battle. So this time it has been easy peasy. when lent is over, I will allow myself sweets, but am not going back to the diets..
Thanks again for asking.

thank you so much for the tip on quitting diet soda. I am still doing quite badly at my attempts. It sounds like you drank as much as I do and it has really encouraged me. Thank you so much. I rarely respond to comments, but felt I needed to do this time.

Thank you! My scale wouldn't budge at all with the low cal / low fat diet so I researched Atkins and South Beach and decided to do the 2 week induction phase with Atkins then switch to South Beach for Phase 2. It was a very tough week but I was feeling like I was losing weight and it kept me motivated. This week will be more difficult as I have a road trip starting tonight but I have my low carb snacks packed and ready to go so we'll see! Just difficult when all the fast food restaurants offer the same thing for low carb. You can do it too!!! Keep the faith! This is the only thing that has worked for me.

Welcome to the South Beach diet team! You are going to love this team! As a nurse, I consider South Beach to be one of the best diet plans available and we offer a lot of support on this team. We have many successful members and we can help you to adjust this diet to suit you own individual needs.
