100 pounds lost and gained

10 years ago I started to lose weight. I had hit an all time high of 225 pounds and was 21 years old. I knew I was missing out on life. Guys would hit on my friends, but not me. I thought I looked like my friends, but when I got pictures developed I realized I was twice as big.

I hit rock bottom during my year abroad in Russia. My host mother told me i could chose, to eat what I wanted and look the way I did or to take control.

I counted calories, took up running ...
10 years ago I started to lose weight. I had hit an all time high of 225 pounds and was 21 years old. I knew I was missing out on life. Guys would hit on my friends, but not me. I thought I looked like my friends, but when I got pictures developed I realized I was twice as big.

I hit rock bottom during my year abroad in Russia. My host mother told me i could chose, to eat what I wanted and look the way I did or to take control.

I counted calories, took up running (starting 3 minutes at a time) and eventually joined Weight Watchers. I lost 100 pounds in 2 and a half years.
I never believed that maintaining is as hard as losing. I believe it now!

So I've seen 225, 125, 145, 175 and last year and 40 weeks pregnant I saw 208. Right now I'm just under 200 and I feel every pound. I need to do this for me, for my knees, for my back, and for my family. I need to remember that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels and I want to feel that again real bad.

I've kept up with seven days a week after the challenge. Other then when I was too sick. Yes, I count walking if I can't fit the gym in, and I work to get to 10,000 steps a day ( but I go over easily on gym days!).
The thing that is clicking for me this time is nutrition. I've really cut back on carbs and that has kept hunger pangs at bay.

Thank you for reading my blog. It always surprises me anyone actually does. :) I more do it to keep myself accountable to my new goals. But it helps so much to know people care about me here in this site.

PS: Last night as part of my goal, I started to read a new book to help retrain my thoughts from a Christian writer. I plan to read it every night and ponder the Bible verses it references.
