Update 12/4/2011
After having my baby girl, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It's more important that ever that I lose weight and get to a healthy weight. In an effort to help me along the way, I've joined back up at Weight Watchers. I love the program and it works well for me. Here's to getting healthy in 2012!!

I'm currently pregnant with a baby girl, due in August. I've developed gestational diabetes. Losing weight and staying active are more important now then ever! I recently bought The Spark and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I feel positive and have the support of my wonderful friends and family as always. Never Give Up!

Update 8/30/2010
As some of you may know by my blog post's, I've gained some weight. I finally got the courage up to weigh myself and found that I gained about half of my weight back, 25 pounds. While I don't like that I gained the weight back, I didn't gain back as much as I thought I did. Very happy about that. We've just moved, in a very long 6 week process. I've lost some weight during that time, but don't know how much. I'm feeling motivated, and plan to keep the losing streak up. :)

Hi all, I'm Joely. Mother to the loves of my life Nathan and Rebekah and the reasons for my weight loss journey. I lost 50 pounds with the aid of Weight Watchers and am looking for other ways to keep my motivation going on my way to my healthier lifestyle, and setting a good example for my son.

My Story
I've had weight issues since I hit puberty. I never thought anything of them until I heard my grandmother remark to my mom one day that I had gained some weight. I was 17 at the time. Then I was told by another family member that I would need to be skinny in order to to be able to find a marriage partner. That hurt me more than anything and to this day is one thing I have a hard time forgiving. I didn't really realize how much it has affected me until recently. While it was no excuse, it certainly didn't help the way I thought or felt about myself. I did find someone who loved me for me and married him in May 2002.

In Jan 2007, I decided to gain control of my weight and joined Weight Watchers, recommended to me by my best friend and her mother who are both successful members. I lost 20 pounds and found out I was pregnant. After I had my son, I was lighter than when I got pregnant. I was thrilled and told myself that I would keep the weight off. Well, my old habits came back and I ballooned to 262. I rejoined Weight Watchers, and have to date lost 50 pounds. I'm happier and feel so much better about myself. I still have 60 pounds to lose to get to my healthy weight range. It's slower going now and I am having a hard time keeping my motivation up. That's why I'm here.

While I love Weight Watchers, I had to quit for financial reasons. I really love using Spark people. I love all the resources for starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I'm 38, married, and have 6 year old son and 2 year old baby girl. I love country and pop music, with a little of everything else mixed in. My favorite tv shows are Bones & Criminal Minds. I love to take pictures even though I stink at it, lol!

I love cooking, movies, photography, beading, spending time with my friends and getting together with my family.
