Lots of ups and downs in the years I've been on SparkPeople. The weight crept back up since February 2015 to now November 2015. So on to a new start, new goals. I know what I should be eating and how much, I know what to do to exercise more every tool I need is on this site.

The past year was spent taking care of my mother in her final year of life and I had little time to think about or do anything for myself. I have a lot of catching up to do in my home, yard, getting to doctors ...
Lots of ups and downs in the years I've been on SparkPeople. The weight crept back up since February 2015 to now November 2015. So on to a new start, new goals. I know what I should be eating and how much, I know what to do to exercise more every tool I need is on this site.

The past year was spent taking care of my mother in her final year of life and I had little time to think about or do anything for myself. I have a lot of catching up to do in my home, yard, getting to doctors and dentists and getting back to healthy eating. This time although I gained the lost pounds back I ate very little fast food and continued to eat healthy foods, just added a lot of salty snack foods and desserts and ate too much fat in my diet. I kept walking at least some, and have stepped that up in the last months and added hiking.

It's disappointing of course to be here since a year ago I was so close to the best healthy weight for me and believed I would maintain it. Especially at my age it's so important not to carry extra weight and become sedentary.

My Goals:
Goal is to get to my healthy weight and stay there, eat right and exercise regularly. Sounds simple and easy enough so I wonder why it's so hard for me to get there and stay there.

My Program:
Eating healthy fresh foods, tracking calories and portion control along with regular exercise - walking and core exercises.

Personal Information:
Grew up as a military brat and lived in several states and overseas growing up, moving every 3 years or so. Maybe that's why I'm finally so settled, in the Austin area of Texas for the past 30 plus years.

Other Information:
Love to read, go for walks and hikes, garden and get outside. Looking forward to some traveling this year.
