02/2015 ~ Welcome and I know I sound like a broken record! :) I found out I am pre-diabetic and I am also struggling with a parathyroid tumor (parathyroid.com is a website with more info on this). So --- Time To Get Serious! Plan is to Eat Healthy, educate myself on what to eat. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!!! Still using my gazelle and mini trampoline. I'm going to do it!
10/2014 ~ Welcome once more to my page and I am still - Jean. I am having a hard time getting my head together to get healthy. My husband died in February this year and I miss him and all the encouragement that he gave me. I am not giving up though. It may take longer than I want but I am on the road to a healthier life!
2013 ~ Welcome to my page. I am Jean and I am pressing onward and inward (slimmer and healthier) again. Last year we found out my husband had liver cancer and it really threw the both of us. We have moved to Wellton, Arizona which is just east of Yuma, Arizona. The warmer weather is better for him. We have some fixing up to do on the house and are trying to eat healthy and lose weight. I need to lose if I am going to survive the summer heat! So here I go again! Still determined to lose weight and gain health!
2012 ~ Welcome to my page.
I am Jean and I am pressing onward to a healthier me. I started a few years ago and had my ups and downs, but 2011 was a good year and I lost 46 lbs. I plan on this year being just as healthy if not healthier. I hope that by my eating healthy foods and being active on the gazelle as well as my trampoline, that I will shed a few more lbs - 50 is a nice round number I'd like to see disappear!
I also plan on doing more Bible reading and less time watching the tv. I also want to get and stay organized and clean out lots of things! I want to simplify my life and finish projects that I have already started.
So there is 2012 for me in a nutshell. Have you thought of your goals yet? Your strategy?
2011 ~ Hi,
Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Jean and I am pressing on for the umpteenth time! This time is different, though. I feel different about the challenge of losing weight ~ I'm not in to lose weight, but to get healthy. I am determined that I am going to do it. I don't want to be on medication for blood pressure. I want to be able to enjoy life and my family! I'm going to become more fit and in the process the weight will go.
UPDATE: 2011 Goals - Spring 5% Challenge ~
I will do cardio 4X/week for 70minutes
I will walk Golf at least 4 times a week
I will do an exercise program 3X/week
I am going to eat healthy ~ lots of fruit and veggies and watch portions
I will huddle every day and as time permits comment or give goodies
I will lose 8 pounds for the challenge
UPDATE 1/30/11: I got sick last month, and I'm still trying to get my strength back. It was just a sinus/flu infection but the cough lingered on and on and on. Sleep was difficult. I'm feeling better but I am tiring easily. I have started to move a little more. I am looking forward to better weather and getting outside more. UPDATE 12/5/2010: Well, I've gained a few pounds and I'm starting over again. I'm going to review dieting strategies and start at the very beginning ~ again! I'm starting now! This will be the last time, as I will not stop. I may trip a few times along the way, but I will get right back up and keep right on going to a healthier me. UPDATE: At 59 I am still trying to get my weight down to where I am comfortable in clothes, chairs and can play with my grandkids and keep up with them. I have 4 ranging in age from 1 year to almost 7 years. My goal is not only to lose weight, but to get more active and more limber so I can get up and down on the floor with the kids.
I am also in love with a wonderful man and we plan on getting married this year in June~AH~ that is this month! :) We are slowly fixing up a mobile home and the yard for a garden. We also have 4 cats and 6 dogs that keep us busy. We married on June 11, 2010. He is the man of my dreams, the love of my life.
I want to lose weight and feel better. I want to be able to keep up with my grandkids. I'm having problems with stress, blood pressure and cholesterol ~ but I intend to correct that as best I can with diet, exercise and good, calming thoughts from the Bible.
I am going to work on my trampoline. I have changed my old eating habits for healthy habits. I am eating 3 meals a day with a lot of fruits and veggies in them as well as for snacks. I'm drinking herbal teas or water. I enjoy walking, biking outdoors, and jumping on my trampoline!
I'm originally from back east in New Jersey. My 3 kids were born on the west coast of Florida. We moved out here by way of Sedona, AZ for a few months and then to CA for almost 30 yrs. I was living in Yuma AZ for a year, but moved to Carrizozo, NM, where I married my dear, sweet husband on June 11, 2010. We moved to Wellton, Arizona in November 2012 where it is warmer for my husband. I have 3 kids and 5 grandkids that I adore. There are 3 girls and 2 boys.
I enjoy reading the Bible and talking with others about God's Kingdom. I look forward to seeing my husband back here on a paradise earth when he is resurrected. Isa. 65:21-25; Rev 21:3,4.
