Patience, Persistence and Power!

About 8 years ago I was in a temporary job in the fast food industry and gained a lot of weight in a short span of time. Through hard work, diet and excercise, I lost about 70 pounds and kept it off for a few years. Unfortunately, a desk job, smoking and some life stress has seen me put all that weight back on over the last 5 years. My Goals:
To lose 70-80 pounds total, hopefully over the course of about 1 year.

My Program:
Diet control. No junk, healthy snacks, brown bag lunches, no prepared food! I'm going on a fresh food kick, and it's the best time of year to do it!

Personal Information:
Nerd. Big, big nerd. I go to conventions... it's kind of sad. Well, not really, cause convention goers are great people. Throw in karaoke twice a week, and that's me in a nutshell!

Other Information:
I love to dance. I mean, it's a real passion of mine. My vacation choices are usually made based on whether there will be dancing involved. I'm not talking about nightclub type dance floor full of girls "displaying their attributes" dancing, but real latin dancing like salsa, cha cha, merengue, samba, bachata. If only I had a partner I'd be a size 2!

Welcome to the Husky Lovers Team. We are glad to have you join us. I feel your pain with the yo-yoing. I currently fluctuate between 180-220 myself. My ultimate goal is to get back down to around 150. I can re-evaluate at that point but it is a good start.

I saw your comment on YOOVIE's blog about wanting to do the 8 hour difficult hike in Algonquin. It caught my eye because I just got home from Algonquin last night. It was the first time I'd been there in four or five years. We didn't do the 8 hour hike, but we did do a 6 hour difficult one (Mizzy Lake), many other shorter trails, and biked the full rail trail (twice). Throw in some canoeing, and it was a great week.

Welcome to 100 Plus Club! You’ll find plenty of support and encouragement here. No question is too stupid to ask, so post away and we’ll all put in our two cents worth. Utilize all the tools SP has to offer. I find tracking my food and exercise most helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey!
