It's a journey, not a race

January 2015 - I'm still here...

Some may think that is a sad statement, but I am here because I need to be - to hold myself accountable.

I will NEVER quit-- and when I reach my ultimate goal, I will still be here, so that I can maintain and encourage others.

Highlights:

I have been up and down in weight since starting this journey. I've gained so much more than a number on a scale or a pants size...

I can run/jog/walk consistently without feeling like I am going to die.

I can deadlift 300#

Food is fuel - it's purpose is to fuel me so I can do the things I want to do. It's not for entertainment purposes.

My daughter inspires me - at age 14 she knows that her worth is not equivalent to the size she wears. She measures her success in her accomplishments - in the number of laps she swims in the pool, or how many miles she can run. I am so proud of her.

I'm worth the effort. I refuse to put my health last anymore.

Learn to swim well enough to swim ONE lap without stopping-

Play on a softball team again- DONE 8/16/12 - Six game round robin tournament - and I rocked it! Update: did it again in August 2013 - still rockin' it!





My Program:
I work out a minimum of 5x a week - My routine varies, but the emphasis is on strength training, balance/core, and cardio - guess I covered it all!

Personal Information:
I love to read.
I love to cook.
I love to workout (I never thought I'd ever say that).

Only YOU can make yourself feel inferior. Others can try, but you ultimately have to give them the permission to do it. DON'T! Plan to work and work your plan.
