Hi! My name's Lindsay! I'm currently in lovely San Diego enjoying sunshine and tons of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. I recently moved here from Seattle and it's amazing the motivation some good weather will give you! I love cooking, coffee, and all things chemistry.

I work from home as a tutor mentor! I'm in the beginning stages of working on getting my teaching certificate, which involves testing, applications, and a load of other stuff!

My Goals:
I'm very big on metric goals, and oh-so-very-bad at NSVs!

Overall Goal: Weigh 160 (upper end of healthy BMI range) by New Year's 2015

Mid-term Goal: Size 12 by June 2014

Short-term Goal: Lose 24 pounds in BLC24

My Program:
I don't believe in using "fake" foods to substitute the things I want. If I can't "afford" a sugary snack, replacing it with artificial sweeteners is not an option. I'm all about moderation and healthy substitutions (like baking chicken parmesan instead of frying it!) to let me eat tasty things while keeping my calories in range.

Fitness-wise, I use a small local gym chain & love using the circuit room & treadmill. Circuit room is a great way to get in my strength while also burning a ton of calories. On the treadmill, I'm working toward running a 5k. I started with a 59:58 walking 5k and was able to bring it down nearly 10 whole minutes in the past few months!

February is another one of those months when stores create magical candy-filled displays. Inside those foil-covered heart-shaped boxes festooned with lace, ribbons and fake flowers are chocolates that have been rattling around in their cardboard container since October--and they taste like it.

Treat yourself to something sweet and delicious that tastes like real food--crisp apples, juicy grapes, fresh pineapple, or a perfectly ripened pear. Just say no to cardboard.
