Hi! I'm Marie and I'm a registered dietitian (RD) so have been interested in nutrition, health and exercise for years and am checking out SparkPeople. My Goals:
To stay in shape in this wet, cold, rainy, sometimes snowy weather so when horseback riding, dog walking, hiking, gardening etc. weather is here I'm READY!
I need to stay healthy and well to beat some possible genetic predispositions.

My Program:
Doing some stomach crunch/other core exercises,free weights up to 8 pounds so far (I started with 2lbs weights) for the arms. Using pilates balls for core/horseback riding training. (I'm looking for more exercises specific to horseback riding.) Stretch and strengthening exercises from the physical therapist for the back, core and my right hip. They seem to be working! I keep adding different exercises as well.
Walking for an hour, horseback riding/working with the horses when the weather permits.
Working on keeping my eating to healthy meals, snacks.

Personal Information:
The city is lots of fun but I think I love the country just a little bit more! I'm happy hiking on Mt. Rainier or walking along the Pacific Ocean especially in Hawai'i where we just spent 7 weeks. What a fabulous place to exercise and we did! I really like talking with my friends, walking/biking/horseback riding with my family and daughter.
Animals are God's happiest creatures and good for a person's health.

Other Information:
I really enjoy roller skating, ice skating, dancing, bicycle riding...just don't get to do those things as much right now. I'm a certified level 1 archery instructor but don't get to do much with that either. Photography and social networking are some of my favorites too. Are you on Facebook, Twitter or have a blog? :D

Yea, my friends with the hot guys are good to me & my other friends, aren't they??? Personally, I think clowns are a little creepy so when I saw him I HAD to send him to a few gals!!! LOL!

If the sun was here, I missed it. emoticon I did lots inside but my back & arms are achy, so...

My chest was the measurement that surprised me the most when I measured for the first time .....a little creepy like clowns!! HA!

Mikhail is only 9 & I've already had to be careful with the things I say about 'weight'!!! I remind him that's about HEALTH not weight!!! He has said to me 'I need to lose weight' or asked if I think he needs to. I tell him it's about getting good healthy calories & enough exercise.

Getting rid of junk food was the best thing I did for my family! I think because I'm an alcoholic I metabolize sugars different. Odds are my son is an alcoholic & he needs to be aware of the pitfalls not only from alcohol but sugars as well.

I really believe that if they could find the link between alcohol & sugar they could cure alcoholism & probably diabetes both!!! I don't understand why 'they' don't see the link!....sorry....my daily rant!!!
