I CAN DO IT...... for LIFE!

I am reintroducing myself because I put back on 10 lbs. of the nearly 25 pounds I lost. (I was able to lose the weight, thanks to tracking on SP. I gained some back by not tracking. :( ). I'm just trying to admit it to myself and face up to my gain... I am also trying to be compassionate to myself. It's hard to find a healthy balance between being kind to myself, yet firm about some necessary restrictions too. If I want my weight to be healthy again, I have to give up about 500 calories ...

This is my intro. from a year 1/2 ago...My name is Jenifer and I have struggled for 6 years to drop some weight I held onto after having my 2 children. My BMI was in the "overweight" range. I love to exercise, and I do a lot of it. But even it wasn't doing the trick. I considered tracking my food with great reluctance. In April (2012) I had crept back up to 160 lbs. so I decided to do something different. I added a strength training program to my cardio and joined Spark People. My plan is working so far! It's very encouraging to have an effective strategy. My goals included getting back into the healthy range for my BMI, and to get into the 140's. I accomplished my goal! Now I have decided to continue toning up, get my weight into the 130's, and maintain this energy and healthy lifestyle!

Hi there! Just saw your comment regarding kickboxing.
I do like kick boxing! I use turbo jam DVD's. My favorites are Turbo Jam ...5 rocking workouts. Turbo Jam....punch kick and jam. used these when I lost 18lbs about a year ago. I like them because the music is fun and it's only a hint "dancey" The instructor Chaleen is a bit dorky but it takes only little practice to get the moves but not much. This is saying something because I hate it when I have to stop and say "wait what????" and get all lost. When that happens I want to quit!

I've bought and use many other DVD's and workouts of various kinds but I keep coming back to these as the old stand by to get motivated and moving. It's a good cardio and strength workout combined too if you add wrist weights. Helped to tame my love handles! LOL and I can see definition in my oblique waist muscles. It'd be nice if I could see a sixpack but ....post three babies who were turkeys and well...it just isn't ever quite the same belly as in my twenties!!! haha and that was quite a while ago! My oldest is now 21! I'll be 50 this fall. Wait when did that happen???? lol

The DVD's can be purchased on Amazon or thru Beachbody.com but amazon is cheaper and you can buy used ones too.

I saw you posted something in the message boards on intuitive eating and I responded to it, but I also wanted to post on your page and tell you to check out the team. Intuitive eating is an AMAZING approach to the lifestyle. I have done a lot of blogs about it and am currently making my way back to it. As someone who has struggled intensely with obsession, it is a safe place to be.
