Hi, my name is Sam and I am unhealthy and unhappy. I have lived all over the world, and seen extraordinary things, include death, malnutrition, hope, and survival. All of this has accumulated to make me into the person I am today. Yet, I have failed to learn from what I have seen and have not let it truly impact the decisions I make for myself on a personal level. Until today. Today, I make a change. Today, I allow my life experiences to make me stronger, make me healthier, make me the person used to be and want to be again.

I've always had an issue with my weight. Though I have always been athletic, I have never been intelligent about my food. In my mind, I never looked as bad as I actually was, so never really thought about fixing the issue. Then 5 years ago, I took a step in the right direction and got healthy. I dropped down to my lowest weight (145lbs), was working out 5 - 6 days a week and eating healthy. Unfortunately, I let work, school and stress get in the way. Now I'm the heaviest I have ever been, and that is a shame. I have a lot of plans for my future, and none of them include being unhealthy, so today, I'm making a change. I hope this time, it's for good!

Like a smoker, I am weeding myself slowly off of my bad habits. It is said that it takes the body about 30 days to get into habits, so each new habit I incorporate is done in that time frame.
