Living One Moment at a Time

Time marches on. I have learned many things since I joined Spark.
I have met (virtually) many courageous and inspiring individuals. It
has added an entirely new element to my life. My goals remain the same, as the foundation for the lifestyle I have chosen.

I am learning patience as I attempt to gain the balance I seek.
My weight-loss plan is extremely eclectic, these days and as my needs change so does my plan. Whatever works...

It has been quite a journey so far. Life has had its twists and turns. However, I now know I do not need to face it alone.
I am learning to live each day moment to moment.

I needed to make drastic changes in my lifestyle or my quality of life would not be very good. I have been gradually making these changes over the years, and feel better than I ever have. I was delighted to find this site and connect with those sharing many of the same issues. Maintaining what has been achieved is becoming quite a challange. The support and information contained on this site have been extremely helpful.

When I first began this journey the following mirrored my feelings:
"I want to be normal again, to stop being afraid. I want to be the person I was before, and I never will be. So I'm trying to find out who I am going to be for the rest of my life."
This is an amazing journey! I firmly believe this still However, I never want to return to the places I have been. The new ones and those yet to be are what I continue to seek on a daily basis.

"How do you build up your bank account? By putting something in it everyday.
Your health account is no different. What I do today, I am wearing tomorrow.
If I put inferior foods in my body today, I'm going to be inferior tomorrow, it's that simple.
