On my way to losing 50 pounds

I will leave the original message, but thought that I would add more from the last few months. Even though I have not come much closer to my goal of losing 50 pounds, I have learned a little bit about me!
* I don't mind the exercise - it is the food intake that bogs me down.
* I loose sight of my goals quickly and have a 'don't care' attitude about it.
* I love to swim - ok...I knew that!
* Weekends are tough for me.
* If my husband and those around me ...

* If my husband and those around me aren't concerned about their weight loss then I am not either...that bothers me!
* Having someone to be accoutable to makes all the difference in the world!
* Drinking water is amazing - keeps me more alert, makes me feel more in control and gives me a reason to get up from my desk and do something - like run to the restroom!

I am in my mid 40s, a first time grandmother and wondering how I want to live the next 20 years of my life. I started on an exercise program (self directed) January 2007 and lost 30 pounds. Now comes the up and down times of keeping on!

My Goals:
Having children I felt invincable - having a grandbaby makes me want to fight to be with her as long as I can and take care of myself so that I can do the things that she does. I now want to be around forever!

My Program:
I am taking care of myself better. I am trying to eat things that I know I should and refuse things that I know are not good for me. I am working out at the YMCA and swimming in the morning before I come to work.

Personal Information:
I am a huge Tennessee Vol fan. I love football - season ticket holder since 1969 season! I played and love to watch basketball! Swimming is my favorite pasttime.

Other Information:
This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Hey Girlfriend, How's it Going!!!
I see you are back on the band wagon. It sure is a never ending struggle, isn't it? One of the things I'm learning is, and boy has it taken me a while to learn it, you just have to never quit trying. I guess that's true for just about anything, though, but especially true for trying to loose this weight and keep it off. I know we all have our ups and downs, and sometimes either one of them can take over. Right now, I'm on an "Up" taking over because I've been able to hold 147 to 149 for a couple of months. Yeah! But a couple of months ago, I was starting to wonder what was going on, and was starting to get down about it. It's amazing how easily things and take a turn, and either way. That's what's so nice about this spark page...it is so nice to talk to people who are feeling and going through the same things. So I am making my next "little goal" to be that 145 mark. I am finding it easier to do this in little, more manageable steps. When I think about the big picture, I'm right at 30 pounds down, (But it has taken me about 4 years to do this), but I only have 10 more to go to my goal....and I'm trying to get to that by the time I go back to Florida.
