Tired of the Yoyo-ing and being morbidly obese

I've had weight problems since about 9 or 10 years old (I am now nearly 61), and was so fed up with my weight.
Not only have I been super obese, but everything hurt.
I need all the help and support I can get, especially no- or low- cost, as our budget is very tight. I need emotional support most of all.

An update: I had "given way" (I don't intend to look for it, so it's not "lost") nearly 100 pounds since late August 2010, but gained back quite a bit; I started to ...

An update: I had "given way" (I don't intend to look for it, so it's not "lost") nearly 100 pounds since late August 2010, but gained back quite a bit; I started to hermit away and feel sorry for myself, I am embarrassed to say. Now back on track - mostly. I love the low-carb lifestyle I have chosen; it works so well for me... when I work it!

I walk every day now; I have 2 rescue dogs -- they make my walks so enjoyable! I used to walk a few times a week, but now it's every day. :)

My knees feel a bazillion times better, my back (from an old injury) rarely aches at all, and my ankle bothers me so little these days.

I can't remember when I was last this happy (except when I had my sons) -- Life is good!

My Goals:
To lose the excess weight, be fitter and feel better, I want to enjoy Life more and see the grandkids grow up too!
I want/need to get past my emotional eating and get started on losing again! At least I am keeping about 100 pounds off so far, give or take 3-5 pounds.

My Program:
A Low Carb food plan works for me. And I walk every day now, since I got a dog.
I've improved - progressed to a 20 min walk, when before I could barely make it to the corner and back when I started 15 months ago!
As of mid-Jan 2012, I'm waking at least 1 hour every day of the week!

Personal Information:
An American now living in the UK (about 2-1/2 hrs north of London), I feel a pull to both places now.
Very happily married (2nd time), 2 grown sons back in the US, And I am a grandma, too -- but I feel so young! :)

Other Information:
We have our own business -- classic motorcycle parts. Hubby makes custom ignitions, and I have an ebay shop.
We also love to get out, not only on our motorcycles, but out for walks and see the country.
Just wish I could afford to visit my family in the States more often.

So nice to have a new friend. I'm committed to getting healthy regardless of the scale. We can do this together...

I see in the weekly teams' announcement e-mails that you are very active. I am a strict Atkins dieter; and I am searching for others who are committed. I know you are a LC'er! If you are committed to the Atkins Diet, I wanted to personally invite you to check out the Atkins team page and consider if you'd be interested in seeing if a small group of us can really make a go of the team and of helping each other lose weight. Right now there is only one active thread -- we won't be hard to find!

Hellooooo....

I have been away a long time and now I am back with a different attitude to dieting. I am heavier than when I started dieting and it made me realise once and for all, diets make me fat! So now I allow myself everything within reason and have made up my own diet - M O D:) I keep to within 2000 calories most days and veer towards alkaline foods. Nothing is written in stone and now I am losing slowly but steadily. Love to know how you are doing.
