I am a homeschool mom who was always making excuses about why I couldnt work out or eat healthy foods. While I was pregnant, I gained over 60 pounds & kept it on for almost 8 years! In May of '08, I started Weight Watchers at home, & began working out every day, no excuses, & have now lost 80 pounds! I feel so happy, healthy & energized! I think the hardest part of making any lifestyle change is taking that 1st step. I also always remind myself that it doesnt require perfection, just persistence. To the mom's out there; take the time to take care of yourself every day too. You are worth it.
To maintain my weight loss long term. (forever!)
To lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
To dance at not only my daughter's wedding, but the weddings of my grandchildren!
To die very old and used up, with a smile on my face.
I workout at least 30 minutes every single day, no excuses! I often do 45 to 60 min.
I try to eat a lot of healthy whole foods like fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains, and lots of high fiber foods! I avoid fast foods, sugary junk food, and anything fried!
Following the weight watchers program by myself, at home taught me how to make good choices, be more concious of what I am eating, and changed my relationship with food.
I have lived my whole life in the same town, but I love to travel and have adventures. I dream of someday retiring in Europe with my German husband. I love to read, walk, watch movies, speak German, spend time with my family, swim and LAUGH! :)
My mother has struggled with obesity and high blood pressure during most of her adult life, my father had a massive stroke in 2007, and has coronary blockage due to poor diet. I didnt want to follow them down that road. I decided to make the changes needed to stay healthy and happy. I am even happier to note that my mom has currently lost 40 pounds! A healthy family is my ultimate goal.
