I joined SparkPeople almost two years ago. Little by little I have made good changes in my lifestyle and they are beginning to add up because I have learned, and continue to learn, to be consistent.

I believe 2015 is going to be a GREAT year for me! I am finally living a mostly healthy lifestyle with good food choices, controlled calories, fitness on most days of the week, 4-6 veggies and fruits (almost) daily, low sodium on the vast majority of days, and at least 10 glasses of water on MOST days. Plus, this is the year I will re-establish a good and stable bedtime routine for sound and restful sleep.

This is all just an experiment in which I earn experience points, and when I am finished, I will know how my body works and what it needs to be healthy.

I hope you'll join me in making 2015 the year you see your healthful dreams come true by a determined and committed effort one day at a time.

Never forget that failure is only failure if you quit. Otherwise, failure is just very good information you can use to make better choices and to learn more about your body's reaction to various foods, nutrients, amounts of water intake, exercise routines.

*Lose 1 pound per week

*Consistently lose or maintain weight without gaining any from week to week

*Focus on Nutrition: -Tracking everything
-Planning Meals by the week
-Eating Diabetic Meals
-Eat 6 small meals/day

Focus on Fitness:
-Walk 15 minutes after every meal
-HIIT or Tabata 2-3 times/wk
-ST Upper, Lower, Core weekly
-Stretch after each workout to prevent pain

Focus on Water: Bump up intake from 8 c. per day to 14 c. per day

Glucose Levels: Check on consistent schedule/160-190 2 hrs after eating

long-term goal:

lower A1C to Pre-diabetic number if possible

Lose 48 pounds during 2015 (Dec 31, 2015 deadline)

I enjoy art of all types, music of many genres, travel, books, interior decorating, redheads, beards, eccentric people, and wabi sabi style.

I love to jog but my knee won't let me.

I also like biking, yoga, Qi Gong, HIIT and Tabata style workouts, and Fitness Blender routines.

It's a beautiful day here today - temperatures are in the 70's the sun is shinning and there is a coolness in the air. It's Saturday. I'm gonna let it fill my heart.

thanks for your comments. Your picture is so pleasant. I am needed to make some time adjustments to deal with my stress and do some planning in other areas of my life so I can make some changes there.
