That didn't work for me either.

Yesterday I went to Medical Bariatrics of Lexington. My insurance requires a 6 month physician monitored weight loss program. So, today I met with Dr. Struck and we set my goals and my prayer is that I will lose weight and will not "need" the surgery!

Everything's about change! Change what I eat, change how I feel about me, change my exercise (from total lack thereof back to gym time)! I could keep on and on; but, I need to get started.

My Goals:
1) Analyze how time is spent and make it about me. Even learning to say No, without explanation.
2) Journal everyday, everything that goes into my mouth.
3) Drink at least 10 8oz glasses of water a day.
4) Think, taste, analyze before I put something in my mouth--make it about nutrition and not a medication!

My Program:
I'm following the guidelines of The Atkins program. I'm in the induction stage. It's hard for me to lose weight--so I'm going to stay here for a little bit.

Personal Information:
I'm from Kentucky and people call me Lexus (hubby's pet name), Mom, Granny, Sis, Retired and many more loving names.

Other Information:
I�m going to push my comfort zone and start being selfish. It�s my time. It�s time for me to stop being everything for everybody leaving nothing for me!

I�ve been on so many diets I stopped counting and head goes to spinning swinging from the yo-yo. This time is the first time because this time I�m not dieting. I�m working toward making my temple as clean and healthy as possible. I�ve done a lot of damage along the way; however, we�re on a turn around.

I�m not damaging this body anymore, the process will take some time, but it will happen. Rome wasn�t built in a day, they say; I say Change, Like Rome, wasn�t built in a day! And, change will come. Most important thing for me to remember is what I taught my children��Can�t, never did do anything�. I�m adding to that�. Can�t, never did do anything, so get out of my way. It�s all about Change and Me. As Walt Whitman says, "Claim your own at any hazard."

I see in the weekly teams' announcement e-mails that you are very active. I am a strict Atkins dieter; and I am searching for others who are committed. I can tell you are a LC'er! If you are committed to the Atkins Diet, I wanted to personally invite you to check out the Atkins team page and consider if you'd be interested in seeing if a small group of us can really make a go of the team and of helping each other lose weight. Right now there is only one active thread -- we won't be hard to find!
