Positively Mindful

Because of complications with my iron-deficiency anemia, I am only exercising for five minutes a day now. I am re-starting my fitness journey!

My name is Hannah. I'm 41 years young. I've been on Spark off and on for years, but haven't been that involved with teams. I'm here to lose weight, fifty lbs.- it's a lot! I walk for fitness or ride my stationary bike. I sometimes skip the bus and just walk to get a workout in, it saves money and is challenging because I have to do hills. ...

Now that I'm back to Spark, I want to make sure the weight loss works this time.

"Choose one thing and do it deeply, and you will do it all."
_Thich Nhat Hanh

Exercising every day is my one thing. I am being very disciplined about this because there is a family history of heart disease and diabetes.

"What is the point of walking meditation? Why do I practice sitting meditation? Because I like it. There is no point doing these practices if you do not enjoy them. It is not hard labour. Every breath can bring us peace, joy and freedom."
_Thich Nhat Hanh

2015 Resolutions
1.) Make a healthy lunch every day, unless I'll be eating out.
2.) Avoid alcoholic beverages entirely, until I am at goal weight. They have no nutritive value and work against losing weight.
3.) No coffee. I do not even like coffee! I hate it. So I always add some soy milk to it, so that it does not even taste like coffee. Alright, so I have been going through a lot of soy milk. Also, coffee causes your body to produce adrenaline, which makes you hyper alert and easily upset. The best source of energy should come from food and that is where I want to get it. I used to just drink herbal tea all the time, and I want to get back to that. It is way mellower. It does not affect your moods in a bad way if you just have the herbal kind.
4) Only sugar free cocoa, no other kind. The kind with sugar gives me a headache. I have been drinking it anyway. But that is going to stop!
5) Only sugar free candy, because sugar is not going to help me lose weight. And because regular chocolate candy seems to be some sort of trigger for me, I can't leave it alone! At least the sugar free kind has less calories.

I found a video I think you will like, with the cast and crew of Dr. Who. I've been dancing to this song a lot today!

Welcome to the 10 minute challenge then Hannah

I tried the Better sleep and it worked for me as I only got around 4 to 5 hours in. I took it up and in a few months I was getting 6.

I now get between 6 and 8 with an average of 7 most days. So good luck on it helping you

I have been with the 10 minute challenge for well over 2 years now but then I can do over 2 1/2 hours a day (sometimes) but I have cut that down because life need to live with other things.

As I said before, make it fun to stick with it.

Re the camera work
I to up photography when I left school and did it on and off. Then around 2003 I bought a digital camera and have stuck with it.

I have read a few books but it has been a lot to do with some of my friend.

It was about 2008 or 9 that I took up wildlife.
