Why am I here? Here's the biggest reason - I was the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding in 2007, and my own wedding was in 2008... so I had TWO dresses to rock! It was a good time to get the ball rolling.
I reached my all-time high weight around 2000/2001. By the summer of 2002, I got sick of looking and feeling the way I did, and lost about 30 pounds.... but some of it crept back. I never gained the dreaded 'freshman fifteen', but after graduating from college (and not walking all over campus every day) I packed a few pounds back on. So, it was time to stop gaining and start losing.
I reached my all-time lowest weight weight and smallest size the summer I got married (2008), and maintained that size for about 2 1/2 years. However, within the past year I've gained some weight back - a fact I attribute to stress, eating like a married person (i.e. matching hubby's habits too much, haha), and my recently found love of craft beer. Possibly just age-related metabolism shift, too, but trying not to think about that one too much...
Fortunately, not all is lost - thanks to sticking with a workout regime, I am MUCH smaller than I was the last time I was at my current weight. Despite being 15 pounds from my preferred weight, I am only one jeans size bigger! My goal, in truth, is not to be at a specific weight - it's just to fit into my size 4 jeans again and shave about an inch off all my measurements, whether that means losing 15 pounds or 2 pounds.

Highest ever - 168 lbs, 42-36-42, jeans size 14 (Eek!)
Start - 150 lbs, 40-33-40.5, jeans size 10
Nov. 17 - 145.5 lbs, 40-31-40
Nov. 24 - 143 lbs, 39.5-30.5-39.5
Dec. 22 - 139 lbs!!!, 39-30-39
Jan. 26 - 136.5 lbs, 38-29.5-38
Feb. 8 - 134 lbs, 38-29-38, jeans size 6
Mar. 19 - 131 lbs, 37-28-37.5
Oct. 16 - 127 lbs, 37-27-37.5, jeans size 4
Mar. 10 - 144 lbs, 38.5-29-39, jeans size 6
By the way, I'm 5'5"... well, 5'4.5", but who's counting? :)
I'm 5'5", and my goal weight has changed a few times, basically because weight is not the most important thing to me. My current goal is to get back to my wedding-day jeans size (with a healthy BMI, body fat % and waist to hip ratio). I want to look fit, curvy, sexy and healthy, not skeletal! I want to get back to the sleek and fit look I had when I got married!
I'm a firm believer that you have to know and work with your natural body type. I am not a girl meant to wear size 0 jeans or an A-cup bra, and don't want to be. Check out my pics for a few women whose shapes I admire!
Generally, I'm trying to eat about 1300-1600 calories/day.
5+ servings of fruits and veggies daily. I eat vegetarian most of the time (pescatarian the rest of the time), and I try to focus my diet on getting ample protein, calcium and fiber.
Current workout regime is 35 min of DDR 3-5x/week, and strength training 3x/week (takes about an hour), plus the occasional extra activity. Sunday is my day off.
I'm a 30 year old married wallflower (wedding date 8-30-08!), with a BA in Psychology and Anthropology. What makes me: part nerdy intellectual, part adventurous fun-lover, and part stompy-boot wearing bad girl.
In summary... smart, a little zany, way too shy, a snazzy dresser, witty on some occasions, decent photographer and baker, good listener, Portuguese speaker (and former French speaker), 90% vegetarian ('pescatarian' if you prefer - I eat fish for health reasons).

those dresses! and kimono! wow! what beautiful clothes to own. i would love to own a kimono. I've also always been the chubby girl and it seems weird to not be anymore. people freak out. its nice. but maybe a little overwhelming sometimes because while it is work, its not a HUGE deal like you may think it is as they hem and haw about what a babe you are. you probably get that too. congrats.

Thanks! Yep, I've had that idea in my head for a while. the Hello Kitty design actually came from a cup that I got with my HK water cooler. I just had the tattoo artist give her a skirt instead of shorts. The dagger in the background is my derby team's logo. That part was almost an afterthought, but I think it brings the whole thing together!

Wow! How cool! Congrats on your loss. I love your goals that you've set for yourself and the rewards. Such a good idea. I just started and think I might borrow some of your reward ideas. :) I'm getting married in Oct 2008 and would really like to show off my dress.
