Hello. I'm a 30 something stay at home mom, who chases around a very active toddler all day long (and sometimes all night).

I love to knit, I crochet a little, and occasionally I make my own lye soap. I have two chickens (Hyacinth and Rose) who love to follow me around the yard when I'm outside, and give me fresh eggs everyday.

I also listen to audio books for many of my waking hours. I'm currently listening to a Focus on the Family radio production of _The Screwtape ...

My Goals:
My mom asked me onetime why I wasn't skinny from all the baby chasing, and my reply was "because I eat like an idiot!" So, I'm here to start living healthier and to stop eating like an idiot!

My Program:
Right now, I'm focusing on cooking at home instead of eating out, and having healthier snacks. I'm also trying to be more active, and I've started exercising at the YMCA four days a week. I'm also trying to fit in a workout video or treadmill time on Wednesdays.

Personal Information:
I just moved to West Texas, and I really like it here. The weather is a bit extreme, but the people here are super!

Hi there
I am rather new to the sparkpeople web site but my Mom just bought a book about losing weight a christian Dr wrote the book and she called me and asked what Quinoa was so I looked it up on dictionary.com and found it on a web site where I ordered some it just arrived yesterday and I didn't know how to make it because there are no instructions on the bag and for some reason I logged on here to day and there was a recipe for it and then I read all these comments about how other people eat it my Mom and I are both trying to lose weight. I joined a gym Dec 28th my starting weight was 191 and now it is 185 it really takes a lot of time to go to the gym I had to sign up for 3 months but I think when that is up and I am going to try and exercise at home. I was excited to hear you say that you were listening to focus on the family I listen to that everyday and I love it.Well I am also excited about trying to make some quinoa. thanks for your imput about it
