I'm a thirty-one year old newlywed in the LA area looking forward to using this community to make some friends and stay motivated to lose weight. I work out a lot -- a necessity because I love to cook and I love to eat!

My Goals:
I'd like to lose at least the 5 lbs I just noticed I put on (I was about 170 at my wedding in May). After that, I'd like to be 165, my weight when I graduated from high school (and I'd like to fit into my prom dress again). Then after that I'd like to get down to 155, my lowest weight in recent memory (from my Albuquerque Weight Watchers days). Ideally, I'd reach my goal weight of 145 -- but I think it's important to have intermediate goals too.
My Program:
I exercise a lot: I meet with a personal trainer 2x/week, do a lot of cardio on the elliptical trainer, and go to yoga classes once or twice a week. On the weekend, my husband and I go hiking and biking. On the food end of things, I'm trying to stay conscious and track my food. I already eat pretty healthy, so my main failings are portion size, letting myself get too hungry, and sweets/dessert. It turns out I'm also eating too many carbs and not enough fat and protein. So tracking my food is a good way to modify all that in the right direction.
Personal Information:
Hoping that this will keep me motivated to actually lose some weight this time! I've been on various diets and etc. since I was 13 (my parents took me to weight watchers). Since then, I've been on Weight Watchers twice, Spark people once before, seen three nutritionists, and went through periodic bouts of self-flagellation. I gained weight in college -- my highest weight was the year of my master's degree, probably -- I topped out at 192. I lost weight when I spent a year (2001-2002) in China (because of the diet and because I walked everywhere) and when I was in Albuquerque (2005ish), exercising a lot while being on Weight Watchers and starting thyroid medication. My lowest weight was 155. I was about 165 at the time of my wedding in May 2009. Now I hopped on the scale and 'm back up to 175 and my size 12 jeans are too tight. It's time for some getting down to business. And even though I think I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle, clearly something isn't working right for
Other Information:
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. Ralph Waldo Emerson
