Committing to myself

I have been a yoyo dieter for all of my adult life. Now at age 63 I want to stop the craziness and stop the idea of dieting and adopt the healthy eating patterns that will enable me to have the energy to keep up with my grandchildren and enjoy my retirement.
I am not afraid of exercise.and have completed three half marathons and actually enjoyed the process of training and the events. What I can't get a handle on are my eating habits. I have never been consistent with my efforts and now I ...

I am not afraid of exercise.and have completed three half marathons and actually enjoyed the process of training and the events. What I can't get a handle on are my eating habits. I have never been consistent with my efforts and now I want to make that change and commit to consistency.
I don't like being photographed but I am posting pictures here so that I can follow the changes over the next year. I have set a short term goal of 10lbs by the end of June and I will post a picture at that time. My total weight loss goal is 60lbs. And so it begins.

One day at a time. With the same goal of being about 60 lb lighter.
1 lb a week would be great, but even 1/2 lb, with consistency will be far better than yo-yoing for me.

Oh Carol, you are such a nag! HA! Kidding of course. I did blog today. Yesterday was insane with preparations to leave town for about two weeks, but I'm planning to keep it up. Thanks to your encouragement, I have started a blog. I need to get on there and will be posting some beachy thoughts as well. I appreciate your nudging. You are the person that actually spurred me on to do this.
