This year's birthday cake.....perfect size.
1 month before surgery
As many members, I have struggled with obesity my entire life. Every diet, weight loss program, behavior modification, exercise regime etc. would work for 20, 30 even 50 lbs only to be undermined at some point, for pretty much any reason, resulting in finding all of the lost weight as well as several additional pounds.
After much discussion, research and soul searching I opted for what I decided would be my final weight loss attempt and underwent RNY surgery on 4/28/09. Sixteen months later and 101 lbs lighter, I am now petrified of regaining. I come to Sparkpeople for ideas, support, guidance and to hopefully help whomever I can! Thank you for listening.

Hey! Thanks for the message. Things are going great. I just hit the 60 pound mark as of this morning. Now I'm dealing with clothing issue, or lack thereof! LOL Everyone assumes I love to shop, which I don't. It's torture for me to go to a mall and even worse to try on clothes. Otherwise, I have no complaints. finally got a sunny day and I'm off today as my husband had foot surgery this morning...it's always something! Why don't you friend me on facebook. Meredith Susan Morrow. I have a blog on there - a lighthearted look at gastric bypass, complete with all the gross and/or funny (depending on your humor level) side effects. I have trouble finding my way around sparkpeople! :) sue

Hi Goldenlilly! Thanks for joining my page. I was a long ago spark person and got away from it. Had RNY surgery on Jan 10 this year. Struggled with some crazy complications, including a seroma and some other things, but now have settled into a routine of 1/4 cup meals and lots of water. I have lost 46 pounds to date and feel pretty good about my loss. I was mildly disappointed when I went on spark people again for the first time last week to see what they had to offer for gastric patients and what disappointed me was reading the threads of so many who gained back the weight. I almost logged back off! I did find some great recipes on here though and I love that you have already found me! We all certainly need each other to reach success/stay successful on this journey to good health. Thank you and feel free to drop me a line anytime. :)
