What has SPARKPEOPLE done for me?

My Goals:
Overweight, fatigued, frumpy woman looking for thin, energetic woman within. ( FITCRIT) ...

To have a healthier lifestyle (ACHIEVED!) and to relocate my weight in God's hands; He'll know what to do with it so it doesn't hurt me any more.
( if we "lose" weight, we can eventually find it again. It is better to "relocate" weight. )

GOAL REWARDS:
I don't believe in them anymore. I believe in treating myself with respect and enjoying life. What once was a reward now is a pleasure I enjoy freely because I deserve it.
My motivation is the knowledge I'm intentionally doing something for my health and well-being.



My Program:
*GOD'S TIMING...... I'm just his bit of clay...

*portion control, conscious choice of food, walking daily-at least 10 km per week.
* drink water, eat fruit/veggies daily.

I am from and live in Uruguay in South America. My native language is Spanish. I have been teaching English for over 20 years.
I was badly "broken" but the Lord has been working to heal me. He's not simply restored me to my previous state. He's been working to make me whole for the first time in my life.

fun! And lots of exercise! And beautiful views!
But I should mention, I only go out if the weather is nice, ie there is no wind or precipitation. This year we have had a lot of good weather.

I don't geocache, but my niece does. It is fun, you should try it.
I find the forests magical too. A whole different realm of experience.

I am 10-15 pounds from goal weight. I lost 10 pounds from September to now, I hope to lose the rest 5 lbs at a time on the Spark Seasonal challenges.
The last pounds are always the hardest to lose :)
I want to lose slowly, get used to my goal weight and stay there.

For more protein,I drink low-fat milk. I have a morning porridge hot-cereal breakfast that includes quinoa and amaranth and have some of my low-fat milk with that.
I also like low-fat milk with or without ovaltine for my recovery drink after a cardio workout or as a snack during the day. I live on a dairy farm so my milk is fresh and I skim the butterfat off. I'm not sure low-fat milk is as tasty from the store, but when mixed with another food like porridge, there is probably no difference.
