Hello fellow Sparkies.......

Today I am nearing one month with Sparkspeople.com. I decided to pick up courage and join the community.

My name is Ghada. I am a 48 year Saudi Arabian female. I was born and brought up in Amman Jordan and have lived in many countries throughout my life including, Lebanon, Egypt, England, USA, and Dubai. I am Health care Quality and Accreditation consultant.

I was born overweight and lived all my life as such. I tried many diets and they would work for a while and then I will regain everything back and more.

Five years ago. I reached a morbidly obese stage, Since then I lost 26 kilos in the first year and then I hit a plateau at 103 kilos for three years. I was not worried since at least I am not gaining weight daily as I was before. BUT....... this year I started GAINING weight again and I reached to 109 kilos.

I knew I had to take control of the situation. My search for a solution was successful when I found Sparks People.

Sparks people is exactly what I needed. It is taking me in small steady steps to changing my life style.

I was not exercising now I am..... I was not eating vegetables and fruits...... Now I am........ I was not drinking enough water..... now I am.

I am however sitll struggling with my sleeping habbits.... and I could not believe it when this month's Sparkspeople calander topic was improving sleeping habits. This just confirms that Sparkspeople and I are meant for each other.

I am an only daughter and I am not used to sharing my fears and thoughts with anyone else but my mother ( may god rest her soul). SO PLEASE bear with me and help me to learn to share and smoothly join the Sparkspeople support community.

Fitness Minutes: 1,356

My Goals:
Go From 106 Kilos to 84 Kilos by 8/13/2010
Exercise daily for 30 minutes
Eat more vergetables and Fruites.
Stop drinking Soft drinks
Improve Sleeping habits
Limit my idle time infornt of the T.V.


My Program:
I am trying to reduce my food consumption to between 1670 and 2020 calories per day.
Just stopping the habbit of two snicker bars a day will definelty make a difference.
And Burn 1880 calories per week change
To achieve that I have started the "Burn away the pounds" walking program (DVDs). I started with the 1 mile walk, then moved to the 2 Mule walk and today I started the 3 Mile walk.
I am also doing strength exercises on althernate days,
I also am trying to be more active by using the stairs and moving around the house and at work.
Instead of having things brought to me..... I am going to fetch them
