10/3/2012 started my 2nd year of active Sparking!
Since 10/3/2011 I've lost 17 pounds although 2 or 3 keep finding me!
I agonized over my weight for years but never did anything serious about it. I started Sparks in '06 but newly married I didn't stick with it. A back injury in 2010 almost incapacitated me and exercise and losing weight are the only long term solutions. My biggest challenge was exercising - now, I need to step up the intensity and frequency to get the results I want.

Whenever you retire - prepare to be surprised. I thought I had everything planned; thought I knew how most of my days would be spent; thought I had a handle on what life would be like. NOT !!!! I had some things right, but there were still a lot of adaptations that had to be made. It could be very stressful instead of wonderful if you are rigid and not prepared to go with the flow.

Yesterday morning was perfect hiking weather, so we went for a loooong family hike. Had a good walk this morning, too, although the wind brought us home early.

Thanks for your perceptive comment. You're right of course concerning the entire population. When trying to get my college bound daughters' attention, my context was violence between genders. Thus, my reliance on the satirist's phrase.
