Using my past to build my future!

It's been a tough year for me, last spring I was diagnosed with alopecia areata and my doctor told me I only had a 20% chance of growing back my hair. Then a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with gallstones and told I have to have surgery to remove my gall bladder.

I wanted to fall apart and just give up.

But instead I said NO. And I decided to fight.

I wanted to fall apart and just give up.

But instead I said NO. And I decided to fight.

I met with a dermatologist and went on a gluten free diet to try to get my hair back. 6 months later I have a full head of hair that is thickening every day and I LOVE my new sporty, cute, short 'do!

To battle the gallstones, I went on a low to non-fat diet and became a madwoman watching everything I ate. The end result? I haven't had a flare up in weeks and I've lost almost 17 pounds! I'll still likely need the surgery, but it feels great to have it under control!

It would have been easy for me to give up, to just say forget it and continue down the path I was heading, but instead I rose up out of the dumps and found my way out to the light!

I'm now using this experience to push myself into the future of being a happier, healthier and better version of myself!

It's easy to want to give up when life deals you blows, but this girl is not giving up! No surrender! Take no prisoners!

My Goals:
Walk at least twice a week with my sister.

Reach my goal weight by December 20, 2014.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes, 5 times a week.

My Program:
Sticking to my gluten free, low-fat diet. Incorporating more fruits and vegetables into my diet and cooking more at home.

Exercising more regularly and finding activities that motivate me to get moving.

Not beating myself up when I "slip", but continuing to kick ass every day!

Personal Information:
Determined, strong, single girl with the ability to fight for what I deserve!

Other Information:
I coach swimming for Special Olympics, just another inspiration for me to practice what I preach and get healthier!

Hey, thanks for checking on me! I've been working out more and trying to stick to my menu and not stray. I can feel myself getting stronger!

Congrats on finding a kickboxing gym, I love kickboxing! And how great to find a gym with HIT workouts and personal trainers! If I had some extra money, I'd probably invest in a personal trainer for a month at least.
