Hi! I'm Fiona and am a 44 year old wife and mother from the UK. I have been a member of Spark since June 2008 and, although I haven't lost the weight I wanted to (12lbs), have found the motivation to keep on going and not let my weight creep back up.

So, here's my story:

I have been trying to shift the last stone I put on when I was pregnant for 21 years! Every year I would try again either with Weightwatchers or Slimming World or another online diet programme and every year I would lose a bit and then not be able to afford to carry on with the programme and give up; hoping that I can keep it going myself. Who am I kidding, I can't do it myself - who can? So, here I am trying again, the difference this time is that when I got to the stage where I would have had to give up due to financial pressures I have been able to continue due to Spark being free. Thank you so much SparkPeople.

The other reason I love SP is that I can record my fitness. I try to go for a run (or trot in my case) 2-3x per week. I also try to fit in some strength training 2-3x per week.

*Swimathon in April 2013:
aim to finish 5,000m in under 1 hour 45 minutes
I DID IT! Finished in 1 hour 43 minutes :0)

*Race for Life in 2013: aim to finish 5k in under 35 minutes

*Run for All (10km) in aid of SNAPPY on
aim to complete in under 1 hour 10 minutes

My Program:
Having changed my lifestyle years ago, I am now using SP to keep a record of everything I eat and everything I do. This way I will know why I have lost or gained.

Running 2-3x per week
ST 2-3x per week (kettlebells, dumbbells and body weight)

Personal Information:
I am a 44 year old wife and mother from the UK.

I have a 21 year old son, with a learning disability and suffers from debilitating migraines, who is my inspiration.

My husband is a driving instructor and instructor trainer.

Other Information:
I love Disney and wish I lived closer so we could go more often than every 4 years!

    Hi Fi. I am just gong to keep plodding on with posting to the Yorkshire team and see if anyone else turns up. There are so many teams on here that no one has used for years! It is hard to find a nice cosy one. they are either not used or have too many people in to keep up with.

    I am quite happy to carry on posting there, it is ,at least, a place to record everything for me to look back on. x

    I never did the thyroid web site! I couldn't get enough information on it. so I had the little darling Irradiated. Should not be able to stand in my way now! emoticon

    Thanks for the support Fi, no baby in site yet.. due Friday ... The web site will be more about the 3% of the people who have a fairly usual auto immune problem that affects the Thyroid including the weight gain and controlling it problems.

    I am doing it more as place to record things for myself to be honest. The experts say 3% do put weight on, but also. most of them, say that is due to feeling of being hungry, and we over eat without knowing, feel tired, so don't exercise. I can't think of any other reason! It makes no sense to gain with an overactive thyroid! .. and yet ........

    So anyone will be welcome to call in on it and comment, but I can't say what direction it will take .. my other was for wood turning ... and there is all sorts of stuff on now , even a page for the Rubber Pterodactyl mascot!!
