Ready.

EDIT - July 2012
Phew! A lot has happened in the pas year. I quit my job at the television station and became a full-time Zumba instructor. When I say full-time, I mean I taught 8 classes per week.
I am not working towards my Canfitpro FIS certification!
My weight is now in the low 180's and I am currently involved in a 12-week challenge that will hopefully see me break away from my plateau.

Even though I may have only lost about 10 lbs. in the past few months, my body has changed even more. I have lost inches and gained muscle. Therefore, I feel better and fit into smaller sized clothes!
I still have a way to go. I would like to see my ultimate goal weight of 155 this year.

I'm ready to have a healthy lifestyle.
I'm ready for change!

EDIT - Feb 2011

I just realized my page had very little information about me personally.
I just turned 27 years old and I'm actually in the best shape of my adult life. I started my journey at 226 lbs in July and am now hovering in the low 190's.
I had a baby at age 18 and I used this as an excuse to gain weight. All my friends said "yeah but you just had a baby.."
Then 7 years went by and I was still holding onto the weight - so I decided to change my lifestyle.
Truthfully I had taken a crack at losing weight before. I had started Sparkpeople in college and managed to lose 14 lbs, but never got below 200lbs. I stopped using Sparkpeople when I graduated and then intermittently here and there.

In June I got married and honestly I'm appalled at my wedding photos. I decided I don't want to embarass myself anymore.
I don't want to die early - I don't want to get diabetes and slowly die like my father is (in front of my eyes it seems) and I want to live life to the fullest. That's why I'm doing this. TO LIVE!!!!
