Hi, I'm a 45 year old single mother to 3 girls. I would like to be around longer and have more fun with my kids. I'd also like to feel a lot better and be a good example so I'm going to try this for motivation and ideas.

The fitness tracker is not well used, but hoping to improve on it the more my back heals.

I have found hope, inspiration and community through the blogs and articles.

Hey Fab....
Small world.....I had a laminectomy/discectomy on 2 of my lower lumber 19 years ago. That's when I went from being very active to sedentary. I'm ultra careful now. And I'm not about to go jogging any time. But I find I have success with Zumba. I use my step and my hand weights, and in 15 minutes I get a great workout. And nothing bothers me the following day.

Don't get discouraged by the scale {listen to me QUEEN OF THE PLATEAUS}
however....
If you know you are not eating more than your height/age/activity level recommends you should take in to lose, then try a different approach. I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day and not losing (I'm 5'11") and I finally went low-carb...and viola...it started coming off again. Now I am totally off of wheat and sugar and I can see my belly going done. Granted, it is not as fast as other folks, but I will take it. If you want some really interesting reading WHY WE GET FAT AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT by Gary Taubes (check out his NO STARCH/NO SUGAR diet in appendix 1

Your dinner sounds good! We're still working on some leftovers from last night Tacos, Beef & Bean. I remade a spark recipe. My favorite recipe yet though is the pineapple chicken.

This go around & know it's important to NOT let myself get too hungry & really concentrate on adding lots of fruits & veggies. I'm also working on moving more throughout the day rather than only designating a small batch of time for a work out, even if it's just walking in place for 5 or 10 minutes.
