I joined SparkPeople in Fall 2008 to help get my butt in gear to get my blood pressure under control, but work travel, the holidays and the weather (okay, okay, laziness!) have added up to about a 7 pound weight gain in the past few months.

So, I'm still here to get my blood pressure consistently in the "normal" range, but now I would reeeeeally like to hit my goal weight -- especially given the economy, I'd much rather fit into the jeans I have than buy all new ones!

My Goals:
Exercise at least 5 days a week; lower my sodium intake; run a 10 minute mile on the treadmill without stopping (I was there in the Fall...sigh); lose/convert about 7 pounds of fat into muscle; get to my goal weight of 118.

My Program:
I'm aiming for 5 days of cardio; a combination of gym visits (treadmill/elliptical) and DVDs at home.

I'm also really trying to incorporate strength training into my routine; right now I'm doing the SparkPeople New YOU Bootcamp; hopefully that'll help start the year off on the right foot!

Personal Information:
I'm a consultant and live in NYC when I'm not on a road for work. I love the work, but I could do without all that time spent traveling, in cheap hotels and being tempted by restaurant food!

Other Information:
I'm an obsessive reader; I try to work some literature in here and there but serial detective/mystery/etc novels are my somewhat-guilty favorite. I enjoy exercise, but it can be hard to put down the book and head to the gym!
