Gaining Back My Life Day by Day

My name is Beth and I have been struggling with my weight all my life. I have several health problems that are complicated by my weight. I have Multiple Sclerosis, Cardiomyopathy, Asthma, Migraines, Arthritis, Diverticulitis, Acute Kidney Failure, Sleep Apnea and numerous others symptomatic from the MS. I would love to lose the weight once and for all so that I might be able to regain back some of my mobility and not have to be confined to the wheelchair as often as I am at times.

I would love to lose the weight once and for all so that I might be able to regain back some of my mobility and not have to be confined to the wheelchair as often as I am at times.

I believe that I can do this and that God has given me all these conditions to make me appreciate the fact that when I can walk that I should be grateful and not procrastinate- but I am a slow learner and at 56 I find myself still needing to lose some weight so I am hoping that I can learn this lesson once and for all NOW and not have to keep going through the same circle of trying to learn what He is trying to get me to see. So far I have lost over 150 pounds and this time I am going to continue until I reach my goals and I Believe I can Achieve it. I am now a Normal BMI I can say for the first time in over 20 something years and am around 5 pounds away from my goal that the doctor has set for me and I feel like I have gained my life back. I no longer can drive because of my heart condition (I will have to get a Heart Transplant I am told before I can drive again) so I am dependent on others to drive me around, but I still feel that the ability to move around without breathing difficulties and oxygen is wonderful. I have lost more weight at this point than I weigh so I have actually lost an entire person. This has been an awesome journey and I know it is never ending so when I get to goal that is only the beginning of another journey.

My Goals:
My long term goal is to lose to 140.
But more than the number itself I want to feel healthy at whatever weight I am at.
To glorify and represent God in a positive way no matter what I do

(1) Positive Attitude
(2) Staying within Calorie Range
(3) Never giving up no matter what life throws at you, just keep bouncing back stronger each time:)

Personal Information:
I enjoy making handmade greeting cards and love to scrapbook. I worked as a computer programmer for many years and I enjoy both the mental and the creative side that the computer can bring out. I enjoy meeting new people .

Other Information:
My favorite saying is You have to Believe It to Achieve It.

My Short Term Goal:
(1) Lose 120 pounds by February 28, 2014.

(2) Lose 130 as instructed by heart failure specialist
Achieved 4/16/2014

On-going Goals:
(1) Get at least 6 hours sleep daily
(2) Drink 8 oz water daily
(3)100 minutes of exercise daily

Id like to invite you to join in my challenge to lose 10 pound in April .The goal is 10 pounds but really u do what u can. The decision to how much is ultimately up to you. i know some of us might be saying 10 pounds? WOW, that is too much! cant do it! But i am here to tell u i did it for 7 months straight, (lost 75 pounds) b4 i got sick with cancer and had dropped out for 3 yrs. unfortunately due to lack of activity it took me 3 yrs to gain it all back, but im back to tell you that with your help I can do it again. if u stay within ur calories that are alotted and if u track everything that passes ur lips u can do it too. I was never one that stayed on a diet before, for more than 3 weeks at a time, and then I'd get discouraged and dropped off. i lost 75 pounds just doing calorie counting and tracking to make sure i never went over. i barely exercised ...i am handicapped and i cant do exercises in the conventional way but i flapped my arms while showering, and sitting did leg raises, went up and down my stairs whenever it struck me to do so. i did very minimal stuff. the idea was to keep moving and i did that. so i know with disipline, encouragement and motivation u can too.. so i invite u to come and join me on my 10 pound challenge! cut and paste link below...
