Hi! I'm Beth and I am 24 years old. My starting weight at the end of January 2011 was 164. This was my peak weight and the point where I decided I was not going to let myself put on any more pounds because I felt very uncomfrtable in my own skin. I knew I had to make some serious changes to my lifestyle. For my height of 5'5" I should be at least 149 pounds or to be in a normal BMI catergory, so I set this as my goal weight. There have been some bumps in the road along my journey but I initially lost 12 pounds since January and have been able to keep off 9 of those pounds. Here I am at the end of June trying to get back on track. I know I can do this- I just have to work really hard for it and stay focused! :)

My Goals:
To be more active, to be more toned, to get to 149 lbs so I will be in the normal BMI category for my height of 5'5". Then maybe try to get to 140 or 135 lbs!

My Program:
My workout program consists of cardio such as zumba, cycling, elliptical, tredmill and running outdoors. Strength training including circuit machines, free weights and kettle bells.

My diet consists of lots of whole grains, limited sugar and carbs. I have also started to make a habit to drink lots of WATER! I bring a 23.7 oz bottle with me to work and drink at least two of those a day.

For me a huge part of dieting and weight loss is portion control and stopping eating as soon as I begin to feel full. I read something that it takes about 20 minutes for your body to realize you are full, so you should slow down when eating!

Some of my favorite snacks and meals include trail mix and granola bars with limited sugar (Kashi has great trail mix bars!), non fat greek yogurt, hummus with whole grain pita chips, fruit such as apples, bananas and pears, salads with lots of veggies and red wine vinegar, pre-cooked and grilled chicken breasts, 96% or 98% lean ground
