Hi -
I'm Ding15 - That's my reminder to Do It Now, Girl - for just 15 minutes. I'm the queen of procrastination!, But I learned from flylady.net that I really can get a lot done in 15 minutes (anything - exercise, cleaning, etc..) ... 15 minutes is short enough that I have the time, but not too long that I won't get started- so No Excuses!!!

Wow! This looks like a great website with a wealth of great information. It's a bit overwhelming; it seems like I could spend a few weeks full time, just to familiarize myself with this website. I initally signed up for a bunch of teams that sounded interesting, and I signed up to receive all the e-mails. Bam! A flood of e-mails!!! Not enough time to read and do everything. So, I'm learning to pick and choose. Right now, I'm happy to just log in and take the trivia quiz daily and learn a few health facts. Slowly, I'll do more.

It sounds crazy, but I'm sort of afraid to lose weight. It is soooo hard for me to lose the weight, but I'm most afraid of failing and gaining the weight back. I am so discouraged by how many people gain the weight back, and I'm always wondering if they worked so hard to get it off, why would they let it come back.
Sure I'd love to be thin now, but I know that's now how it really works. So, I'm going to take my time, and as long as I'm not gaining, I am being successful.
What I've learned so far: You really need to embrace that losing weight is a new lifestyle - really!; create and MAINTAIN new habits, keep planning and tracking your food, stay active, etc... Easier said than done - BUT that appears to be the difference between a diet where you gain the weight back, and losing and maintaining the weight. It sounds like what helps keep you on track is the support and community from SparkPeople. That's awesome!! I'm just dabbling in SparkPeople right now, but I'm looking forward to making new friends and learning lots.
