A thinner Jamie

I grew up thin, and I know what thin feels like. I need to get back there. For me, for my kids, for my husband!


Just think of this journey as a curvey road! It's sometimes ok to get stuck in one of the bends in the road, just accelerate out of it and race down the straights!! When you hit another bend in the road, learn from the last bend and accelerate even faster out of it!!

My journey began when I was in college and at home for Christmas break of my junior year. Blah, blah, blah. Sure, there are lots of medical background reasons that I initally gained weights, but that is now all in the past.

In August 2011, I had a routine physical with a new MD. He ran my cholesterol, thyroid, and fasting blood sugar levels. I was convinced my blood sugars would come back high and I would have the ultimate reason to get healthy- for my health and to control my blood sugars. So, much to my dismay, relief, etc, all my blood tests came back normal. This is really good news, but for someone like me it seemed that I needed to have something bad to motivate me towards something good.

Then I realized something... THE SCALE IS MY SINGLE MOST WORST ENEMY!!!!!! Really, it is. When I try to loose weight, I am so focused on the scale that I can't see the good in what I am doing. So, what if I took the scale out of the equation?

Now my goal is to focus on health. To focus on making exercise a part of my routine, and to make eating healthy my ultimate goal. If I loose weight in the process, then what a perfect side effect!

My Goals:
I went into my 20's being thin and fit, a downhill ski racer, soccer player etc. While I know I won't be a ski racer again, I would at least like to be fit again. I want to see my muscles again!

My Program:
6 to 7 days a week of Turbo Fire!

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY but went to college in NH and stayed. Currectly I live in NH, am happily married and have 2 beautiful and spunky daughters.

No, we are just gonna keep going on the post we started already. You can just pick up wherever we are on the discussion. Amy and I are on board, so jump on in. I tried to rally Jaya a while back and I just couldn't do it. Maybe if we all gang up on her we can pull her back in! I did get a Christmas card from her, so that was nice! Welcome back!!

Just stopped by to say "hi"! I've been on SP daily for the past couple of weeks now...Having a good streak! We're playing a round of Game On! on the Team Site here and it's a great group of girls. No buy-in, just for support and spark goodies and we've all been pretty successful! If you're interested, there will be a break in the cycle on Monday the 12th... Hope you're doing well!
