I have been looking for somewhere to go to find people who can inspire me. I have always been overweight, or as my mother-in-law used to say , not overweight just undertall. I have a very bad back so exercising is a challenge. There are two exercises I have found that I can do, stationary bike and pilates. Neither one entails standing so thats good. I'm hoping to get inspiration so that I'll be more apt to do more perspiring.. I'm hoping that it will help with my back problems . I actually ...

I lost 40 lbs before I started Spark people. Hopefully this will give me the motivation to lose the rest. Wish us all luck.
I am going to set a goal for myself. I haven't really done that before. I just lost what I lost and didn't put a time frame on it. Now I feel like I want to so here goes:
july 1,2008- 5 lbs- This one not made due to surgery and inection. No weight gain tho and that is good.
August 1,2008- 5 lbs- So missed this goal also. I have decided to take a look at my exercise and my sodium. Sodium gives me fits, coz i couldn't figure it out. Well i fifnally decided to check my food. what an eye opener. so now that is my mission. Exercise more and cut the sodium.
Sept. ,2008- 5 lbs-I did manage to lose 2 lbs last week. i weighed today and gained 1. so lets see what the rest of the month holds.
So i weighed today and my total for sept. is 3.8. Not quite 5 but i will take it. It was hard fought and took changing a few things to get there. i am going to fight this month to not lose ground.
Oct. ,2008- 5 lbs-Not a good month. Held steady , which can be as satisifying as a loss. Sometimes you just have to wait, and the best will come.
Nov. ,2008- 5 lbs- This month was good. Considering it had a holiday attached. I know it is only one day, but the build up to it is fattening in itself. I did manage to lose 1.8 lbs this month. I will take that. I am hoping to lose or at the least maintain for the month of December. Here's to all of us loving ourselves this month and not letting the same tapes play.
Dec. ,2008- 5 lbs-Well, December actually turned out well. I may not have made my goal of 5 lbs, but I did lose a couple of onnces. that in itself is an accomplishment . I just like most, usually gain some during the holidays, so am very pleased with this months weigh in.
Looks like I have been very lax on writing here. I did not quite meet my goals for Jan., or Feb, but doesn't mean there were no results. I have been very bad about exercise. That is something that I do need to work on. I have lost about 5 lbs since the beginning of the year, so I am happy with that. My goal for this spring is to get to that 200 mark by June. I am going to put every effort into that goal!

Since starting Spark I have finally quit smoking. It has only been 11 days, and I know that anything can happen. Being here has been the inspiration that I needed. The people are so supportive that I feel I can accomplish anything.
My daughter has also joined. She is the light of my life. I hope she takes more time to get involved as right now it is hit and miss. Like all young Moms , she is busy with work, kids , home and husband.
I have lost 5 lbs since I started and that is good for me. I'm constantly striving to exercise more. Eating veggies is my biggest hurdle. Never have liked them. That will take the longest.
So my journey continues , as it does for so many others. I wish all of us luck and Inspiration.
Starting Jan 1 2010 one of my teams started a challenge for a team member that needs a kidney transplant. We are all going to loose the same amount of weight she needs to loose in order to be eligible for the transplant. She thinks we are helping her, but in truth she is helping all of us as well. Thank you Marla for being th esweet , caring , compassionate person you are. It brings out the best in all of us. Now no more talk, on to the challenge that will help us all.

.My goal is to get down to 160. I have already lost 40lbs. It would be nice to talk to others so you don't feel so alone in the quest.
I started with slimfast and still use it once in a while. I gradually added food back in because i knew i wouldn't be able to use shakes forever. The shakes are there if I need them. I do exercise on a stationary bike. Iwould like some variation.
