Hi. I'm Kate, and I'm an emotional over-eater. I don't know how I got here, but here I am: almost 35, significantly overweight, not happy with myself, ashamed, embarrassed, and avoiding situations and activities due to my size. My Goals:
I am planning a Caribbean Vacation for 2015 and I WILL have a smoking hot bod to fully enjoy myself on it!!!!

I am aiming to lose 50 - 75 pounds total.

I am going to learn how to make the appropriate changes to maintain the weight loss, instead of yo-yoing back up again.

My Program:
Baby steps for me. I'm going to concentrate on taking it one day at a time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time, one decision at a time.

Food goal is simply to stay mid-range as much as I can, but I will allow myself one splurge day a week.

Exercise I will incorporate: walking, hiking, Turbo Jam dvds, ChaLEAN Extreme, Biggest Loser Weightloss Yoga, and various treadmill programs.

Thanks for the welcome. :) I can tell already this place is a positive, safe place to get suggestions, vent, and (in my case) talk about calories, how much I worked out, and my weight as much as I want without boring others to death! LOL

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
