Building a Better Body

Dealing with the fact that I am not perfect has been stifling--I don't look like a supermodel, I didn't invent the internet, and I'm not a millionaire. Adulthood is nothing like I thought it would be as a child...I've outgrown my fantasies of idealism and perfection. I am ready to accept the challenges of my reality.

Dealing with the fact that I am not perfect has been stifling--I don't look like a supermodel, I didn't invent the internet, and I'm not a millionaire. Adulthood is nothing like I thought it would be as a child...I've outgrown my fantasies of idealism and perfection. I am ready to accept the challenges of my reality.

I could list dozens of reasons for which I've hated my body and neglected it, but I'd really like the focus of this introduction to be on the reasons why I love my body, and why you should love yours, too.

The body is the soul's only connection with this planet. It allows us to experience everything life has to offer. The best part for me: everything works! I can see, hear, taste, smell, and feel. I am mobile. I'm so grateful for the experiences my body provides for me.

My body may not be perfect, but it is the only one I'll get. I must nourish and condition it to have many more years in this experience of life!

I once read that love is not only a noun, it is also a verb. In order to experience "love" the noun, we must first take action with "love" the verb. This is my mission to love my body.

Nutrition: Eat 1200-1550 calories per day.

Cardio: Mountain bike at least 45 minutes on all good-weather days.

Strength: Do Core and Upper Body workouts, each 2x per week

Accountability: Use fitness & nutrition trackers for everything. Do my measurements/weight in once a month.
