My weight has remained stable for a long time no matter what I do, and my doctor says to ignore the BMI (which says I'm obese) and just keep on doing what I'm doing. I am exercising six days a week and watching my diet. My lab reports are consistently good. I have a lot of energy--seldom feel tired. I am losing inches, just not pounds, and going clothes shopping is almost a pleasure again. My goal is not to gain any weight.
To stay healthy, eat better, and have some fun.
I do stretches every morning, and I walk 6 days/week. I walk with the Volksmarchers (ava.org), some friends 1X/week, and meetups (firstname.lastname@example.org). I'm on SP's 10K/day team, which is very motivating. I have started back with WT at Gold's Gym.
I have always lived in St. Louis. I've been married for 30 years to Gordon, a very patient man. We have two adult children and two grandsons, 22 and 9, who live in Albuquerque. I retired from teaching high school, but then helped a friend at her preschool for 3 years. I am very much enjoying retirement.
Favorite TV shows: The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, John Oliver, Bill Maher, Samantha Bee's Full Frontal, and Stephen Colbert's Tonight. We obviously like news satire.
Favorite books: The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel, Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon, The Help by Kathryn Stockett
