Take one day at a time

I have decided to start anew and reset my goal ticker. I have been put on medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and for some heart issues. It was a VERY stressful year in 2012! The start of 2013 was rough, but things have improved. As of Jan. 2014, my health issues are all under control with medication. Hopefully, by losing more weight, I can eventually cut down on some meds.

I have kept off 15 of the 45 lbs. I originally lost, so I can be happy about that at ...

I have kept off 15 of the 45 lbs. I originally lost, so I can be happy about that at least. Thanks to SparkPeople, I have the tools and the will power to do it! Last year I stopped my terrible nail biting habit that I've had most of my life! If I can finally do that....I can do ANYTHING!!

My Goals:
I want to lose weight and feel healthy! I am tired of being out of breath just climbing a flight of stairs.

I want to be able to stop some of the medication if I can eat better and improve my health.

I want to live to see grandchildren!

My Program:
I will exercise 2-3 times per week and try to fit in little "mini sessions" whenever I can. I am committing to at least 15 minutes a day.

I will not give in to emotional eating as I have done so many times in the past.

I will NOT eat past 9 PM.

I will plan my meals and track every little bite! If I ate it, I have to own up to it!

Personal Information:
I am happily married for 38 years with 2 adult sons.

I have lived on Long Island (NY) all of my life.

I hope to move to VA or NC when I retire.

Other Information:
I love reading Stephen King novels. Own most of them!

I enjoy sitting outside on my deck and walking by the lake in the preserve nearby.

I like listening to a variety of music - I especially love The Cure, Usher, Ne-Yo, Lady Gaga, Steely Dan, Mary J. Blige, Elton John and I'm a huge John Lennon fan too.

How nice your niece is on JBER! They just had a great air show this weekend - we watched it yesterday from town and it was amazing! You will love it if you come up to visit her!

Hi Debb. Thanks so much for the goodie. It always makes me happy when someone sends me one, especially out of the blue, like you did. Have a great day, hon. Hugs, Linda

I had her albums (Bobby Sherman, Monkees, Donnie Osmond, Lynn Anderson, etc) in a separate box, and I thought I had it well hidden but she found it and subjected me to three hours of it! Wasn't really that bad, but my music tastes was and is so different from hers. I was the same as you, I liked some bubble gum rock and then there was In a gotta da vita by Iron Maiden (I know I butchered that title) and Stairway to heave that I loved. But Motown and Disco was my faves!
