I'm Debbie and I'm taking it a day at a time

I've been overweight all of my adult life. Getting tired of the yo yoing. In the year 2000 i was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. Turning a deaf ear to the diagnosis i felt "now that i'm taking meds i can eat what I want and not worry aobut the diabetes" How wrong i was. It took an almost fatal accident stemming from a blackout after a 400 blood sugar reading and a fall down a flight of stairs which could haae been much worst in the injury area. I was so lucky. Someone was watching over me. Finally some sense was knocked into my thick head. I've been eating healthy ever since. Not only making healthy choices, i exercise 6 days a week. Since last November I have lost 40 lbs. I enjoy using my sense of humor along the way. It helps burn calories when you laugh. Today i have normal blood sugar readings. I feel good, look good and I'd like to love aobut 40-50 more pounds. I've come this far, I know I can do it. I have faith in myself and Love me more today than i ever have. I'm so glad i was introduced to Spark People by a friend. It really helps to track my food and exercise. I like writing about my feelings, my emotions, my dreams.

Being almost totally Deaf/legally blind has it's drawbacks. But today I am comfortable with myself for who I am. It has not always been this way. It is the main reason for my Emotional eating disorder that triggered Binge Eating normally at night. That is in my past thanks to SparkPeople.
